Let me expand on your thought: Why should the US send aid anywhere when we can't get people to see how they can help themselves? I've been asking myself this for years.

    1. The U.S. should not send aid anywhere. We cannot afford it.

$8.9 trillion in debt, rapidly declining dollar value.

    2. Throwing money at a problem is almost never the solution. Yes Africa is poor. But money alone is no good. We/they need to get governments out of the way. American environmentalism prevents Africa from developing. Even if we send money to build an electric power plant environmentalism forbids them from building it. That's just one example. Leadership there just hordes the funds anyway.

    3. We can't convince our own country to solve our own problems. Our leaders argue about who has the best plan to solve some problem when in reality both plans suck.

You know you can`t really blame the USA for Africa the West has sent Africa billions of dollars to africa for the people with aids and starving people since the 80`s yet things remain the same in Africa because the UN and African leaders are corrpt and lining there pockets.

How many live aid concerts have they had and money raising things for Africa over the past twenty years yet things remain the same in Africa.

    Why send Aid to Israel?

Why channel billions of Tax dollars for no return to US nor to the human race?

The answer would probably dwarf the meager handout to the real needy in Africa regardless.

I reject the theory human beings have something to do with the present state of Africa. lots of the countries are worse off now then they have been below Colonial rule of the "Europeans" not human beings. the biggest subject is that plenty help is pumped into Africa now, and this is skimmed off with the aid of corrupt governments that use the help to prop up the corrupt government. Then there is the plain occasion of Mugabee in Zimbabwe. as quickly as the bread basket of Africa till it observed communist recommendations and "redistributed crop land" now the persons are ravenous. That has not something to do with usa and help will accomplish not something yet to extend the Mugabee regime.

Because we want the world to think we are humane, that we have the better resources to ingratiate ourselves on them. We have all this humanity and ways to help others better their lives. Eventually, all countries will want to be like us, rich, humane, a super power, a democracy. Or they will owe us one. Other countries are always willing to take help from us, damn we blow them up and then send our guys in to fix it, at our cost, to keep control of the money and power. PROPAGANDA!!

Action speaks louder than words, doesn't it? If you want to be a leader, you have to lead by examples. Even if no one listens to you.
