What caused the price of eggs to double?
I bought eggs for about 70 cents a dozen. A few weeks later they were $1.45 a dozen. What egg supplier stopped shipping eggs? What feed became unavailable. Please provide news source or valid link.

OIl, of course, the cost to ship the eggs to market. And in the fall chickens, even though egg producers use lights to make them lay, they slow down this time of year throughout the winter.

Here are some of my opinions:
1) Half of all the chickens on the Earth is infected with some bird disease and they have to double the price.
2)Depending on where you live, some states have different prices of eggs. (I could be wrong on this)
3)Some stupid worker in your store accidentally put $1.45 on the eggs instead of $0.70
I hope some of my opinions will help you!

I was wondering the same thing. Everything else at the grocery store is going up, so I guess it was just eggs turn.

They want to compete with the oil prices. I am sure it is due to more expense on the farmer to supply food for the chickens.
