Hi friend,
There are advantages and disadvantages for both older & little sibling. My elder brother got all the new stuffs like clothes, books, toys & others but he also shoulders more of the family's responsibility. He is like the 3rd parent in the family. The little ones rarely gets the new stuffs (after all they usually got the hands-me-down). I'm the youngest among the boys, but you know what? I was never envious of my brother because in my own way I have certain advantages. I don't have to carry that much load on my back as far as responsibilites are concerned. Also when I was a kid, I never had problems with homeworks& lessons after all my brothers are all there. There is and will always be favoritism in the family. Some parents are openly showing preferences, others subtlely. But it balances itself out automatically because there are always grandparents, uncles & aunties who can smell underdogs and shift their attention to the other kids. I have 4 kids. 2 boys, 2 girls..My eldest was my grandfather's (I admit, my favorite also)..But the eldest daughter is my sis-in-laws favorite, my 2nd boy is his maternal grandma's favorite, while my baby daughter is well..Everybody's baby..The worst thing a kid do is to forced others to love them by trying to attract unnecessary attention. Because the more you try to get attention, the more unlikeable you become..If we just be ourself, there's always someone for everyone.

It may seem that way but probably isn't so.
I know the feeling I am the second son. Not the Oldest No.1. Not the only girl and not the "baby "of the family. I sometimes did think they were treated better. But I am sure it wasn't so.

totally. i have an older sister and an older brother. my dad is cool and treats us all the same but my mom likes my brother better and we believe it's because she's her only son. he gets money whenever he wants and goes out all the time. but whenever anybody else asks for money she always says no. then she asks him to do hoouse work and he says he's going out and she lets him go, but if she tells anybody else to do it, we're not allowed to leave until we've done the work. he gets away with everything.

My brother's were older and because I was a girl--I couldn't do this or that because I was a girl.
There were some things my brothers had to share--ex: stereo so I got a radio that could play cassette tapes.
In many ways it seemed indifferent but it really wasn't.

Well my 'sister' is a dog. A very cute little dog with lots of fuzz. The answer is yes. I never get cookies when I bark really loud. :-(
