Misbah-ul-haq, A great discovery for Pakistan in twenty20 WC..would U like to share some comments about him??

Good question indeed!! He is awesome not because he is an extraordinary talented player but because he knows his limitations and knows his game. He doesn’t over try whatever he does. And this is what makes you competitive at the top if you know what you are capable of. He is cool as a cucumber. Well, there was some very obvious reason that he always found it hard to cement a place in the Pakistan squad. First was that when he got the chances back in 2000, he didn’t show up the performance, despite a good number of chances and thus he was dropped. Nothing wrong in that. He kept performing on the domestic circuit, but the strongest reason why he could not make it in the national squad was that Pakistan by then had a very sound (probably the best) middle order line up. With Inzi, Yousuf and Younis at their peaks, Misbah could not have done anything.

Anyways…now he has shown what he is capable of and I see a good 4 years of cricket in him and hopefully all in Pakistan colors from now on. He is far away to fill big boots of Inzi, but he probably is the best among those who are waiting for their chances. Good luck Misbah!!

Moreover, I don’t think he played the wrong short. He actually did the right thing and the short was on because the fine leg was in the circle. It was just sheer bad luck. What did him was the slow pace of the bowler, had that been a Sresanth or RP, that short would have gone much further.

30 answers ... isn't that a bit optimistic? Anyway, I also agree with you that Misbah-ul-Haq should be captain. He has a great cricketing brain. He is a good performer for Pakistan and has the ability of being a great leader. I really think he should be given a go.

Yes .......first is first I like to say congrats to Pakistan. Since Pakistan defeated ICC World Cup Champs 2007:

Sri Lanka & Australia. Pakistan was on a Pakistani march to win the 20-20 championship unfortunely, Pakistan did not win VS India. However, Pakistan was on fire & Misbah-Ul-Haq proved the P.C.B. his not a shadow of Shahid Afridi anymore.

I'm not a Pakistani but, a Lakan desi.

However, it dosen't matter. What matters is I think

Misbah-Ul-Haq has a future with the P.C.B & Pakistan for outstanding batting performance since, Shahid Afridi didn't do anything. Misbah-Ul-Haq is like another Abdul Razzaq.

Therefore, Misbah-Ul-Haq is a talented Pakistani allrounder.

Hey Roshni, do you know , Misbah ul Haq the surprise star of the tournament has become my favorite player too.

I think he is one of the biggest assets for Pakistan. He is not a slogger(like some of his team mates) but a thinking cricketer.

He has the patience & the good shot selection which is required in ODI's & T20's.Such a talented guy.

At the final stages, it was India Vs Misbah ul Haq

After that huge six in the last over, I thought the match was ours. He cannot definitely get the blame coz he did his part..

I think we should also pay credit to Shoaib Malik who brought him into the time. After all Shoaib and Misbah himself were criticized a lot!

Yeah unfortunately Pakistan lost. I think it wasnt their day. This was misfortune!

LAST ball, 4 runs needed. All the Indian fielders stand at the boundary because they know Pakistan has to go for 4. Awesome Miandad hits 6!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was absolutely phenomenal. Unfortunately Misbah couldnt keep his nerves. After all he is human being. Someone here said that Pakistan will face humiliation. NO NO NO NEVER. I think the whole Pakistani team deserves a lot respect - not only from Pakistanis but also from Indians. Just like we give respect to Indians for their victory... BUT WE WILL WIN NEXT TIME ;) ;)

He is a great find for Pakistan. Am 100% Indian, but Iam just amazed by the way he has carried himself all through out the tournament. He is an amazing talent with nerves of steel. He has a cool composure. He almost won the World Cup for Pakistan. He was just a shot away from fetching victory for his team. Pak were 77/6 at one stage. But he carried on the responsibility and marched the innings. I thought that he should have been Man of the Series. All, in all, a great competitive cricketer. My rating for him 8/10

Misbah is a find for Pakistan. Though he seems to come a cropper when the pressure mounts on him. I dont know or for that matter no one knows how good he can concentrate say over 50 overs or may be in test cricket. He is certainly the much needed Bevan type finisher for Pakistan.

Misbah is an excellent player the match was exciting,i was roariong for Pakistan.I think they well.I wish he hadn't played that shot,cause he had more balls remaining but he is only human.I also think India and Pakistan are on the same level when it comes to cricket the victory could have gone the either side.

It was the most exciting match i ever watched i was rolling on the floor when i saw that one more six could have given them victory.

I just thought to ask this question before, but u did it, anyways its nice to see such a great match winning player in pakistan team after a long time, & his performance in this whole T20 series was absouloutely superb, & it was nice to see him keeping him self controlled in every matches untill the last moment alone.

152-9 & nedded 5 runs to win, woah!!! if i was in this situation, im dead on the spot, lol...

Even the pakistan-india "ball out" match before this also was the same, Misbah is the one who played well until the end, & in this match only he & imran nazir played well...

so just think how much of pressure on him, & two biggest country's victory was in his hand at that moment, how much of tention, i think he was confused at the last moment of thinking what shot to play & he may be thought to finish the game in that one ball itslef & thats why he played that backward shot, & it was the only last wicket left too, so no body can blame misbah for losing the match. He is a star for the pakistan team after Shahid afridi, so now the team should let him play the game the way he like or wise he is also gona be like afridi later on, cus when inzi was captaining the team the whole team was always depending on afridi, so afridi was losing trust & faith on himself because he couldnt achieve things alone at that time & they were losing many matches continuously, so i hope malik doesnt do anything like that to Misbah & spoil his wonderfull future, now they have covered all their weak points & they are very strong today.

I felt so sorry to see Misbah yesterday kneeling down on the ground holding his bat & was looking down, oh.... he might have scolded himself for playing that unnecessary shot, anyways Indian team also played well they put allot of pressure on to the batsman's & attacked well, but at the last moment evrything were changing ball by ball, anyways they should be happy atleast they are the runners up of the 2007 T20 WC, as afridi told "winning & losing doesnt matter at all we are happy about the way we performed in this whole series with our guys after a long time" both the team are really fresh & strong today, so they have a good future tomorrow.

NOTE: Sohail Tanvir is also another star for the pakistan team, he has a different style of bowling action which makes the batsman's confuse.

Must say he is a great player.. Well luck didnt go with him at last ball but he played v well.. and he accompanied with Imran Nazir are the players who put an effort to chase the target. Rest all the players were playing as they are just here to pass time and waster overs...
