Do all students in high school special education need an EDP? (Educational Development Plan?)?

    Why be in Spec Ed if you are not going to have an EDP (IEP in Texas)? And yes, it is the law. An EDP sets goals and accomodations for the student. There is a reason they are in Spec Ed in the first place. The EDP will state necessary changes in teaching, test taking, etc.. to optimize the student's learning/behavior/etc...

    If you are in Special Education classes not matter what year of school it is you have to have an IEP Individual Education Plan in NYS It's only when you get to college that it's not used because College isn't' mandatory. IF it was than an IEP would have to be in place so that each student would be assured of getting the accommodation's that they need to do well.

    It probably matters on what state you live in, but then again they might just give different fancy names for them in different states, however, usually, yes they do. They usually have a set plan to help a special ed student improve
