Is Anyone Else Upset About the Asterisk Ball?
The record breaking ball will go to the Hall of Fame with an asterisk thanks to Marc Ecko because of Bond's steroid use. While Bond's has admitted that there is a possibility he has taken steroids, it isn't proven that he has, he hasn't failed a test, and it isn't proven that steroids affect play. Coordination and other factors fall into that too. Others have used steroids and aren't in the same talk as Bonds. Let's see Giambi hit it out of AT&T Park. Let the man have his glory. He worked hard and he accomplished a major feat. Even if he did steroids, he isn't the first to alter the game. There are pitchers in the hall of fame that threw illegal pitches and illegal ball damaging to aid to their wins. Hank Aaron has accepted the record and so has the commissioner. Let it go everyone. It will be broken by A-Rod anyways.
I am agreeing with Yankee Mick as far as Bonds leaving San Francisco. I think it's just time. He thinks he still has some fight in him, but I doubt it. He just wants a ring and I'm sorry that the Giants can't give it to him. I still don't want the ball defaced and vandalized.

Quite frankly i am glad that this happened. It isn't as much of a blackeye for Bonds as it is for Selig and Mlb. This is basically telling them that we don't care about the stats as long as there is no real help through drugs. I mean come on Selig has done absolutely nothing about this issue or does he want to. Now one of the biggest historical moments in the mlb has a ball with an astericks mark on it. I say congrats and maybe this will sent the message to Selig that its time to clean up the sport

Wow since one can you tell people what they can and can't do with things they own. The dude owned the ball so he has a right to do that. Wow I wonder why we don't care about Giambi mabye it's because he did not break the homerun record. I agree with what was done with the ball.

Could care less. Guy bought the ball for $750k ... kind of dumb in my opinion, but he can do whatever he wants with it. Anyone that is abusing roids, hgh, or whatever to the extent that some of these athletes are will pay for it eventually. They are destroying their own bodies and doing so happily. Hope the price is worth it.

OK you lost me at Giambi... The two are MILES apart...Did Barroid address the Media when he was accused........NO.. Thank you....Secondly Marc Echo BOUGHT that ball.... Barry could have bought that ball, but did he ....Again...... NO.. So its very hard for the average fan to find simpathy for ANYONE who seems to HATE the game he gets HIGHLY paid to play.... Not to Mention He has the attitude of someone who has walked on the Moon....WAKE UP BARRY....TIME FOR YOU TO LEAVE S.F............N O W.......

I think it's great. Saying that Bonds hasn't taken steroids is like saying Bush invaded Iraq because he thought that Hussein personally bombed the Twin Towers.

It's just a lame publicity stunt. His clothes arent as popular anymore so he needed to get his name out there again.

It hasn't been proven that he did take steroids nor has it been disproven. Either way I'm tired of hearing about Barry Bonds. Yawn.............
