Do you ever watch your parents with your baby & wonder how you survived?

Sometimes I watch my mom with my son & I know its been 35 years since she's had a baby to take care of, but I swear sometimes I don't know how I lived, lol! Its just things like giving him things small enough to fit in his mouth...

Well actually, it's my mom's mother that comes into question here. No matter how much she handles babies (which is about a 1,000), she has this awful tendency to drop, or almost drop, a baby that 'jumps'! Like how a newborn will jump when a camera flashes. She just can't seem to get a grip on holding the baby firmly. Scares me to death. Needless to say, I don't take pics of her holding babies anymore and I always suggest that she sits down before holding a baby. As a matter of fact, she dropped me when I was a baby and my mother said she went nuts over it. No wonder I'm hanging around Y!A! LOL Whew!

Lol, yes. I don't have a baby yet, but my mother is terrible with babies. She can hold them for about 30 sec. before they start to scream. I on the other hand love babies, so i think that makes me calmer when holding them and they relax. Heres a funny one, when my older brother was a baby, his mom had to run to town for something, baby stayed with daddy, in the meantime he needed to be changed, since daddy didn't know how, he took the old diaper off and laid him on the floor on some newspaper. Luckily they only live a few minutes from town so it wasn't too long. Small babies just weren't his thing, they still aren't. I find that men do better with babies once they begin to walk and become more "fun".

HA, HA !! I know what you mean. I wonder this all the time.I have a mother who did not Even raise me for too long, thank god. Mostly for 2 years then moved in with my grandma, savior. My mom barely gets up of the chair, how did she keep alive this long? I have heard all my life that my brother had to sometimes change my diapers to keep me from crying , no wonder I have issuses.

Yes! My son is 10 and my mom thinks that he should be able to walk to the store (on a busy street) to buy her a bag of ice. She's crazy!
