C'mon, you dodged my question `does your church have authority?
over Christ, the HEAD of HIS Church YES or NO! I've got chrch history
That person seems to have vanished, But thank all of you who knows Bible truth. See I'm not a Catholic 'basher' but if ANY of us strays from Bible truth, IN THE WORD,,we should be straitened out, hopefelly in Christain love. HE said ROME had the last word, WE disagreed he's quiet. let me leave with this wisdom. EVERY religious, denominational, Church & pastorial doctrine MUST SQUARE UP WITH THE WORD OF GOD! And to take a verse at the expense of the REST of scripture, as well as out of context, is ERROR! So I believe this, and I'm not alone...thank you.

Look this is discussion and or debate, nothing more. Please don't try to make this into someyhing is is not, remember I only use caps for EMPHASIS. :-) :-) :-) :-)
Yes I know granny of5 It's just that the person slipped that statement in, changed the direction we were going in. as for who wrote the Bible? I know it was finished before 325 a.d. and no ROMAN catholic had a hand in its original writing. I also know that Paul was the one who set Peter strait on a certain matter. and set Church 'rules' not to fear I'm strait on that.
All of you! Read in Hebrews where Jesus IS declared a High Priest, in the manner of Malcchizedek! Our Great High Priest. SO,,,He is Mine. ya'll c'n have all the rest. Oh, yes look,up 'Schnebs answer to the question, Do catholics consider themselves Cheristan? Y'all gave him thumbs down for the truth in his answer BYE.

Christ is the head of the Roman Catholic Church, through His emmissary, the pope.
Who's the head of protestant churches? I dunno. You'd have to ask a protestant. Ask CJ.

No. (Even though I presently do not attend a formal 'church service', to God's glory! The difference is applying the '2 or more witnesses' principle (Jews Deut. 10-20, Christians Matt. 18:16, 2 Cor. 13:1, along with listening to God Jews Joshua 1, Christians 2 Tim. 3:16-17).
The scriptural old testament being the law of Moses, not Genesis-Malachi. Questions regarding such? Email me soon!!!
When did you ask the question before on here; I presently do not recall it?

No, my church, nor does any church, have authority over Christ.
On another point, Christ is the head of the Church, we (Christians) are the body if the church.
Jesus is the authority, not the church, building or believers.

I would have to agree with Granny. Jesus supposedly gave authority to Peter, hence all the Catholic Popes. But did Jesus authorize that everything the Pope says is to be considered infallible? In my opinion, I think the Catholic church has taken it too far.

Hamoh,
CHRIST is the Head of the CHURCH and therefore the answer that You seek is "NO". No Church or group have authority OVER CHRIST! Have a wonderful weekend and a glorious week!
Thanks,
Eds
PS... I do NOT Dodge any questions. I am not here very often and I have not seen this question before.

The LDS church believes in a restoration just because of these reasons. God is the head, but it is Jesus' church. We believe that the priesthood which is the authority to act in Jesus' name here on earth was restored.

Jesus said He has "all authority" and the apostles were to teach the things He had commanded! (Matthew 28:18-20)

Your question, dear, concerned the claim that the Church wrote the Bible. I fail to see how addressing that is "dodging" anything.
Christ gave the Church authority. Whether or not you accept this is entirely up to you. But being belligerent and confrontational toward others doesn't change it.
Peace be with you.

NO!!!!!! God has ultimate power over EVERYTHING becuase he is the creator. Imagine if you drew a picture, and it enslaved you.... (scary thought) that just can't happen. God has authority over everyone just like we have authority of our kids
