What are some Christmas symbols that predate christianity?

i think you are trying to establish that christianity is really based on pagan things.....

remember,, that anything can be used by anyone as a symbol....no one has a monopoly on certain images...

if someone uses a rose to represent something..then does that mean no one else EVER can use the rose?.....as if the first person to use the symbol has exclusive rights over it.?
