Any good games similar to Kingdom Hearts?

Question

Well I have been having a lot of trouble lately choosing a new game for my PS2, but just can't seem to find anything that owns up to Kingdom Hearts, at least to me.  I want a game with actual fighting sequences, not a card game design like Final Fantasy.  But nothing like boxing, more like fighting with weapons and beating bosses. Something with an actual story. Any reconmendations?

One of the best action RPGs I've ever played is Dark Cloud 2 (called Dark Chronicle outside of the US). The battle system reminds me of a cross between Kingdom Hearts and Legend of Zelda. There are two main characters (Max & Monica), and a good storyline. Here is an IGN review of DC2 (they gave it a 9/10):

If you liked Kingdom Hearts, then you will probably like final fantasy games.

If you have played all Kingdom Hearts games(1,2 and chain of memories),then I suggest Final Fantasy series,and especially Final Fantasy12-XII,or Final Fantasy 13-Versus 13/XIII-Versus XIII(is hasn't been released yet).Although,my favorite Final Fantasy is 10-X,you don't have to loose anything.
