9 week old kitten question?
my very adorable kitten is 9 weeks old, it was first born to a mother that had had a litter before but all died young, this kitten at about a week old, I found with a string from under my bed around its neck, I was in time to break the string, I feel without harming the kitten. Now at 9 weeks old, this kitten is very small, has the ability put its head right back and look up, I can feel the rib cage, should I be able to feel this, it is not skinny, eats well, happy, also the shoulder bones at the back of neck, seem to be sticking up. I was looking for anatomy pic of cat to compare, this kitten is not indicating any pain, jumps around, bends, turns, sleeps, eats, any ideas about the abnomalies.
My kitten is eating well, it is just the bones I am a little worried about, also the two? bones at top of shoulder seem to stick up and be close together.
Happy kitten, wobbly head, cute as.

Some cats are built more elongated and you can feel the bones in the back and the ribs. They look fatter when you look at them from the side but look very skinny when looking down at them. My cat is like that. I would say that the kitty is probably a little under weight. The kitty could have worms too and this can cause them to be skinnier.. Certain types of worms can only be killed with medicine from the vet. the over the counter medicine will only kill certain types and can harm a kitten so you certainly would have to go to the vet to get it checked for them before giving it any over the counter stuff.

Kittens can wear you out, yes! They have a lot of energy and they sleep a lot to rebuild that energy, so yes, this is absolutely normal. If your other cats did not stay up all night, then you just got lucky. At nine weeks, all you can do is hope that she starts to sleep at some point during the night, perhaps you can put her in bed with you and get her to sleep that way. Cats are nocturnal and even if they sleep during the day when they're young, at some point, they 'turn' back to being creatures of the night. Bless their little hearts! Good luck :)

I don't know where you live. Here we would take it to a vet to figure out everything is OK.
Which consumes some money of course.
It sounds pretty normal, if he eats all right. Maybe he needs more or other food.
How come you found him with a string under your bed: Who put it there in the first place?
I found mine on the road at about 4 weeks old. He is 16 yrs. now, still skinny (which I prefer to fat tomcats - same with women...lol)
A lot of times the vet saved his life though (poisonings, infected bites from fights, infected rotten teeth, etc.)

always have kitten food down for her at all times as well as water.she is still an awful young kitten. i think feeling its bones is not anything to worry about, as long as you always have food available. try to give a good quality kitten food, like i already mentioned. can you take her to the vet and have her checked? its probably a good idea to do that as soon as you can.

Cats can be very picky eaters, try to sneak around and see if he´s eating his food. If he is, has a shiny coat, his eyes are bright and is otherwise healthy, he might be a skinny cat. They usually get more rounded at about 3 months.

Do not worry, as long as the kitten is eating well and shows no signs of abnormalities, nature will take its coarse and you will be loved by the one you have saved with great affection...

As long as it's eating, seems happy, sleeps, plays, etc., I'm sure it's fine. It takes a lot to kill kittens.

For 9 weeks old what you described is normal. Be sure to get a check up for him/her to a vet soon though.

Kitty is fine, better to have a skinny young kat than a fat one, fat ones get letargic, then you should worry, he seems to be normal. It is also normal to worry about those you love.

Check with your vet to see what innoculations it will need, also when to desex it and have it looked over, and what it will cost you.
It sounds healthy to me.
