The two opposing schools of thought that have developed are:
1. Darkness does not move, it is always present, and light is laid on top of it.
or
2. Darkness moves at the same speed as light, and it meets the laws of motion in that Darkness is the equal and opposite reaction for the action of the movement of light.

The speed of darkness is equal to the speed of light, obviously. Darkness is nothing more than light outside of the visible spectrum. If you look out into space, or even inside of a closed room with the lights off, and see nothing but darkness, then you are obviously seeing light, as there is nothing else that the eyes can see.

A light ray is like an arrow as it leave the source behind it traces a trail of darkness behind its motion.Light particle has an effect only on what it collides with. Light travels in a medium just like an arrow travels thru the Air. Since its a micromass it is affected by Gravity. We can measure the speed of the arrow as it travels thru the Air.
In space dark matter appears dark( an invisible space structure) and is a stationary medium. Therefore anything moving thru dark matter would have a velocity that is relative to it as per the Principle of relativeity that Galileo postulated.
When we observe the Sun it appears to move. And if we observe the earh from the sun its the earth that appears to move while an obseerver from the sun sees himself stationary. The effects are justaposed. .This is called relative motion.

The speed of darkness is the same as the speed of light. Darkness is just light ceasing to be.

Trick question. Actually there would be no speed if there is no matter. Dark is empty unless filled with objects that move such as light. For example space is nothing more than stars and planets and various objects moving through it, therefore if these things were not there, there would be nothing to move.

well darkness is the absense of light, so i would assume that the time it takes to get dark, is the time it takes for the light to leave, which would be the speed of light!

186,000 miles per hour the same as light.since darkness is the absence of light when the light goes away the darkness would comeback as the light leaves.

darkness, defined as absence of light (or more technically the absence of photons) cannot travel. Therefore no speed.
