Is it true that if you leave a turkey outside in the rain it will drown?

I remember hearing that they will look up into the falling rain and drwn as a result. Is this true?

    It is true that turkeys can drown when they look up on a rainy day. It's because they only breathe through their noses so when they look up the rain goes in their nose and prevents them from breathing.

    When turkeys were domesticated, they seemed to have all the smarts bred out of them. There have, indeed been cases where dom. turkeys drown in a rain storm. Wild turkeys, on the other hand, are one of the craftiest, and cautious animals in the wild. That's why successful turkey hunters really know their stuff.

    Turkeys would not look up but run and find shelter .

    No! They survive in the wild in the rain all the time. That's a funny one. Never know till u ask.....hahaha.
