when I was a kid (I think my Dad paid them off) some of the neighbors made us kids do tricks. It was rough going there. I couldn't do cart wheels or head stands, but I tried.
Come to think of it, I think we gave up and ran to the next house because we did our tricks and no candy. hmmmmm

I was tricked twice one year. One lady gave me an apple and some dentist gave me a toothbrush.

Yes.
There are times when bad bad kids bring baskers of eggs, and throw them at houses that have owners who don't want to be bothered.
