when is a knot not a knot?

a knot may be called a knot when it actually is not a knot and therefore since it is not a knot it can't truthfully be called a knot. So if it is not a knot, then when is it not a knot? And by the way, this is not something to be taken lightly.

When a person has a sore muscle, they might say "I have a knot in my muscle." However, the muscle is not really tied in a knot. Therefore, that is when a knot cannot truthfully be called a knot.
