how can you get ink stains out of clothing?

    Aerosol hairspray put directly on the ink stain, wash in cold water, and do not dry until the stain is gone has always worked for me.

    As long as it's ball point pen ink, that is. I don't think that would work for ink from a marker.

    I use any hair spray and blot with a clean white cloth repeatedly until the stain comes out. Depending on how bad the stain is, it could take only 5 minutes or much longer. Then wash and dry as usual.

    There is a kind of stick like that of a lipstick but its 1" in diameter thick. Sold in Hong Kong and its surely powerful can clean out all kinds of inks and the clothing won't get damage by that cleaner. Cost around US 7 dollars.

    try windex with amonia it will also get stains out of your carpet
