Best way to clean a non removable helmet liner?

I have an Icon Mainframe helmet and it smells really bad. I did take out the cheek pads and washed them. I heard you can put your whole helmet in the dishwasher, does this work? Any ideas would be great.

soap and water, then let it dry. there is a spray that you can buy that will freshen it up.

i wouldn't recommend putting the helmet in the dishwasher. the best way i have found to clean the inside of my helmet is to use soap and water, boil it and 'steam clean' the inside of the helmet by using the steam. it works a treat for me, but obviously i dont know how much cleaning u need. you definately have started in the right way by cleaning the removable cheek pads first .

It may be too late for this but once you get it clean try this. When your not using the helmut put newspaper inside of it. No really. The paper helps to absorb the sweat smell. It works.

I recommend using bacteria and mildew eliminating products such as "Helmet Fresh".
