How would I get that awful smell out of a dishwasher?
My dishwasher smells like something crawled in there, threw up, and then died. It grosses me out that something so stinky is "cleaning" my dishes.
Any ideas/ tips/ tricsk?

they make a dishwahser cleaner. if you cant find it at your supermarket call the # on the back of your detergent box & ask them what stores distibute it.
also, i've cleaned mine out w/a cup of vinegar*( white) , & tried also clorox. like 1/2 cup & run it thru a full cycle.
& dishwashers get gunk around the door, it has to be cleaned,& it sounds liek the drain is possibly stoped up or something.

Happened to me too! When I came home from vacation - so I put a flat bottomed cup/bowl in the top section of the d/w and filled it with vinegar. Ran the machine on hot, for a full load (only the d/w was empty of course), and "dried" it on heated drying - and Yay! the smell went away after two treatments. Hope it works for you too!
Since then - there is a new product on the market made especially for cleaning d/w's - in the same aisle as the soap!

If you look in the very bottom of the dishwasher. there should be a drainfilter, which traps the debris. If not cleaned it will smell foul. After removing debris. Run cycle w/I would use bleech, Or buy some dishwasher cleaning product. Good Luck!

First try running the cycle with vinegar. If that doesn't work you need to call a repairman

vinegar is the best known one and has been proven. i've also heard that running powdered lemonade leaves a good scent, but i've never tried it
