The name changes do sound funny, but guess we'll get used to them. They seem to change more now, so they'll be many more to get used to as time goes on. The thing I don't like is the way the series is doing Geico and Mike Wallace.

Busch series is really just a lower league of NASCAR than Nextel Cup series. It's for drivers who have some talent, but can't do well at the highest level. It also serves as some sort of developmental series for young drivers. Only problem is it's invaded by the best drivers who also drive in the Nextel Cup series. Overall, it's just the skill level that makes the 2 series separate.

well I don,t like the change but we ALL know it because of the $$$$$ MONEY $$$$$. But The SPRINT CUP does sound better then the NEXTEL CUP. As far as th Busch Series changing to the Nationwide Series that doesn't sound right. Maybe the Nationwide Cup Series. Now all who have Nationwide will know where their moneys are going.

I just wish they would go back to the golden oldie names. The cup level was the "Grand National Division"

and the Busch series was "the NASCAR Sportsman Division".

But the direction taken was opposite of the plan. The Bush series was to race at the tracks and areas that cup did not,but politics prevale and NASCAR cuts testing dates and because the cars a simular the Bush series is a Saturday testing session.

As for the names If it is going to be a true "Nationwide" series it will need to seperate from being a companion event and back to the heartland.

I definitely have to agree what your saying about the Busch series but I have to disagree with you on the name change for the Nextel series. Because it is the same company and it definitely does not sound right.

Maybe they should call the new Busch series:

"The NASCAR Nationwide Except For Those Two Times They Leave The US And Go To Canada And Mexico Race Road Courses Series"

    aka NNEFTTTLTUSAGTCAMRRCS.

    That says Nationwide, right.

It doesn't sound right because you're not used to it. I bet you didn't like Nextel Cup the first year. Unfortunately, it doesn't matter what anyone thinks. That's the way it is. The series needs a sponsor & they're the ones that put up the most $ and, it was badly needed. So, give it time, you'll get used to it.

To be honest it doesnt matter if we like the new names because it cant stay the Busch series when they arent the main sponsor anymore and Sprint took over Nextel years ago and it only makes sense for them to change the name to Sprint.

We will all get used to it over time. I will will miss the Busch Grand National Series but what cna we do? From what I read, AB was forking over a mere $3-5 Million per year and NASCAR was looking for $30 Million per year as the presenting sponsor. Nationwide negotiated and got that price down to $20 Million per year. My question is do we really see a company like nationwide "going the distance?" As it is with Sprint, there are constant rumors that they want out of their contract but they are stuck. When that ones expires, they will be gone. I believe the same Will occur with Nationwide as well. My immediate concern is the crap that NASCAR allowed them to play with Mike Wallace and Geico. If they want to sponsor a car, they should be allowed to. Poor Wallace gets it stuck to him again with something out of his control...

    I don't think it matters.

NASCAR is not about racing it is a means of green.

What once was the Winston cup for decades I never in my wildest dreams ever thought it would be anything different.

    Kind of like the:

    Busch Clash

    the Firecracker 400

    The twin 125's

    Charlotte Motor Speedway

    NO CHASE

    NO TOP 35

THE RACE ENDED AT THE RACE DISTANCE THAT IT IS TO BE NOT AFTER A GREEN WHITE CHECKER

I thought it should be called the Sprint to the Nextel Cup...i dont like the nationwide series...it just doesnt sound right, but neither did nextel when they replaced winston. i guess we will eventually get used to it.
