American Airline Meals?

I'm going to Maui from DFW airport on Saturday (after a 2 hour layover) from Atlanta and it will take a little over 8 hours. I was wondering if they still serve meals on flights? My mom told me that I can purchase one...if that is the case how much do they usually cost just so I have an idea...thanks!!

Dee is right, no complimentary meals any more. I flew LAX-OGG (Maui) a few weeks ago, no free meals there either, just meals for purchase.

Terminal D at DFW has a lot of really nice restaurants from fast food like McDonalds and Railhead BBQ, to nice sit down restaurants like Tirgin Irish Pub,and many more. I was actually very impressed with terminal D and all the food choices.

I'd recommend picking up a meal to go and bringing it on the plane. It's not too much more for takeout from Terminal D than the $5 chicken salad sandwich AA offers for sale onboard.

Hi... I'm a f/a with AA. I fly that trip all the time. We do have snacks for purchase in the Main Cabin. We have huge wrap sandwiches for $5, also over-sized oatmeal raisin cookies, trail mix, Lay's Stax chips for $3. There are several good eateries at DFW airport; you may prefer to pick up something there and bring it onboard instead. That's actually what most people do. Have a great trip! ALOHA!!

I agree with the FA's advice--- pick something up in DFW and bring it on board with you. You will have a wider selection and often, on long hauls, they do not have enough meals/wraps to serve everyone who wants to buy one. Just do your fellow travellers a favor and stick to cold sandwiches/subs, or salads, or other things that do not have strong odors. Nothing is worse than spending 8 hours smelling leftover onion ring oil or fried fish! :)

    Example prices:

    Individual Snacks - $3

    Snack Pack - $4

    Fresh Light Meals - $5

    Bottle of water- $2-3

    Mix drink,wine and beer- $4-5

Always bring extra money just incase prices have changed. And carry a couple apples, bananas or snack bars with you in your carry on just incase the food they serve is yuck or they aren't serving something you like.

dont try a red eye flight coz they dont serve anything at all. i flew a red eye flight out of San Francisco to Chicago. i guess a 4hrs flight is only a short hop for AA.
