What's with all the school shootings? What do you think is the root cause of this?

A shooting in a downtown high school on Wednesday, led to five people being taken to a hospital, the mayor said.

Mayor Frank Jackson said three young people and two adults were hurt. SuccessTech Academy had been secured and there was only one suspect, he said.

"They have the shooter," Jackson said. He did not elaborate.

Ronnell Jackson, 15, said he saw the shooter running down a school hallway.

"He was about to shoot me but I got out just in time," he said.

Another student, Doneisha LeVert, said she heard the principal say "Code Blue" over the public address system, and the students started running. She said she hid in a closet with some of her friends.

Students stood outside the building, many in tears and on cell phones. Family members also stood outside, anxiously waiting for their children to be released.

"I'm scared. I'm hoping no more people got hurt," Jackson said.

Tammy Mundy, 38, who has a son and daughter at the school, told The Plain Dealer of Clev

Update:

Any thoughts? I think it is a direct result of how God is being pushed out of people's lives. It's not a punishment it's just that the school's really need to be covered in prayer. All of them. School's many of them do not even allow kids to wear T shirts declaring their faith. I think that's the spirit of Anti-Christ at work.

Waaaaaaaaaay back in 1690, Benjamin Harris' New England Primer textbook with a memorization rhyming alphabet was introduced using Scripture to teach reading and pronunciation. It was reprinted and used for 210 years, until 1900.

Benjamin Rush warned if America ever removed the Bible from the classroom, all of our time will be spent fighting crime.

sounds like that old dusty FOUNDING FATHER was right....

I agree that losing prayer in our schools and an increasingly non believing population has a lot to do with this. Is it possible that with the advent of television and the increasingly unreal body images portrayed as being desireable by Hollywood that more people are being shunned simply because they don't fit the image? If a child has pimples, is overweight, doesn't wear fashionable clothes, doesn't know how to fit in and has no friends because of these things-could abuse suffered over long periods of time so desensitize kids that they are unable to have empathy for others-because no one EVER had compassion for them? It's a very complex issue with no easy solution but I think that lack of social acceptance is one thing that most of the kids involved in these massacres have in common. How many of these kids grew up in hostile home environments without parental guidance, supervision, love and concern? Are studies being done to find out what produces this kind of behavior? I don't know. All that I can do, personally, is raise my children to be Christians, to show kindness to those who are different, to teach values constantly (yes, even to the point where the kids are yawning) and to pray.

I had this all documented on another computer, which crashed, and was unable to find the sources again.

Back in the 70's, there was an attack on a school in Israel. Up to that point, the official position of the govt. of Israel was to never negotiate with terrorists. But when it came down to the lives of their children that were being held captive, all this went out the window. People were willing to do ANYTHING to save their children, and this observation was not lost on a certain individual who was well placed within the Democratic party. Through his efforts, schools were made "gun free zones" where he and his cohorts knew this would result in shootings in schools, seeing as the perps would know there would be no one to stop them. Then the parents of the slain children were made to believe the problem was guns. This worked great for them, and they were able to get quite a bit of legislation passed banning more guns and related issues, for people were willing to throw reason to the wind in order to "save the children." Remember the quote, "if it saves just one child's life?"

So these people with an agenda were willing to sacrifice people's children to their cause, and few were the wiser as to how it all came about.

If you want a massive shooting somewhere, just make it illegal for people to carry guns there. The law abiding will comply, and the criminal will not, knowing full well no one will be there to stop them before they can do great carnage.

What a country of fools we are.

I think there are many parents who are not keeping their guns locked up and there are some kids who do have their own guns. My daughter has her own guns, but they are locked up where she can't get to them without supervision. She goes hunting with her father. Parents should keep their kid's guns locked up too. I don't believe kids should have free access to guns and kids under 18 should NOT go hunting without adult supervision. It's not the guns that do the killing, it's the person pulling the trigger.

I must add that my daughter's best friend's brother was accidentally shot this summer by his best friend. The guns were in the vault, but the vault wasn't locked. His friend was just horsing around and the boy told him to put the gun down before someone got shot. As soon as he said this, the gun went off. He was shot in the arm and had to have emergency surgery. A nerve was severed by the bullet, leaving his hand difficult to manipulate. He will never regain all of his fine motor skills.

I blame the parents for this. Thank goodness my daughter wasn't over there when it happened. The father was in Colorado at their cabin, but failed to lock the gun safe before he left. It was summer and the kids were out of school. Parents are being irresponsible with their guns.

I truly believe it is because they took prayer out of the schools, Kids are being bombarded with violence from television, movies, books, and music plays a big role in the problem also. But we cant blame it all on the schools, A child learns allot from the parents, allot of parents have to work leaving the television to babysit. We can not kick God out without repercussions

The root cause of all school shootings is

the same root as the root of all wars is

the same root as root of all sickness is

the same root of all evil...

    wait for it...

    it's law.

I told you this in 100 posts already,

but you didn't ear it, so I'll repeat it

for you a little LOUDER: IT'S LAW.

It's "this gospel" in Matthew 24

    which notably produces sorrows.

Funny thing is, when a shooting happens,

the first thing people do is add more laws.

So then it happens again, and again, and

again, and again, and ever more often....

till you get it: understanding, and by it

understand law is evil, both good + evil.

The way you discern it use your senses.

The GRACE of our Lord JC with you all. Amen.

I am in total agreement with you. Pushing God out of our society in general, is what's wrong with our society. This reminds me of a tract tha is on The Way Of The Master web site. It is shaped like a bullet and says "What the shooters have in common" and here's what is written on the inside...

Experts tell us shooters have this in common — they are people who feel that they can't cope with life's problems, or they feel underappreciated. Yet who among us doesn't have these feelings at some time? That's life. However, there is one common denominator that the experts don't mention. Each of the shooters had no regard for human life. This may be because of their world-view — that humanity is the product of evolution, and there are therefore no moral absolutes — no right and no wrong. "Thou shalt not kill" isn't part of the curriculum. Columbine killer Eric Harris wrote, "You know what I love? Natural Selection! It's the best thing that ever happened to the Earth. Getting rid of all the stupid and weak organisms." In the 1960's, authorities removed the Ten Commandments from our schools. It seems that they didn't like our youth being given moral guidelines, so they have replaced them with security guards and metal detectors. A wise man once said, "First, I fear God. Next, I fear him who fears Him not." Someone who has no respect for God will lie to you, steal from you, and even kill you if he thinks it's necessary. Nevertheless, after death each one of us has to face a moral absolute, especially if we have taken the life of another. If God is good He must punish murderers. The Bible tells us that God is so good He is going to make sure that absolute justice is done on the Day of Judgment. How will you do on that day? Let's see if you have kept that absolute standard, commonly known as the Ten Commandments. Is God first in your life? Have you made a god to suit yourself? Have you ever used God’s holy name in vain? Have you kept the Sabbath holy? Have you always honored your parents implicitly? Have you hated anyone? If so, then the Bible says you are a murderer. Have you had sex outside of marriage? If you have, you are a fornicator and cannot enter Heaven. Jesus said, "Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her has committed adultery already with her in his heart." Have you ever lusted? Have you ever stolen something (irrespective of its value)? If you have, you are a thief. If you have told just one lie (even if you call it "white"), you are a liar, and cannot enter the Kingdom of God. Listen to your conscience. The Law leaves us all sinners in God's sight. On Judgment Day we would be found guilty, and end up in Hell forever, but because Jesus paid our fine on the cross 2000 years ago, God can forgive us. The Bible says, "God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Then He rose from the dead, and defeated the power of the grave. If you repent and trust the Savior, God will forgive your sins and grant you everlasting life. Confess your sins to God today, put your faith in Jesus Christ, then read the Bible daily and obey what you read (see John 14:21). Thank you for reading this.

How long is it going to take people to realize we need to return to the way our nation was before they deciced to create a "separation of church and state"? I say 'create" because that is exactly what they did. The separation of church and state IS NOT Constitutuional. It's not in our Constitution and Thomas Jefferson was not even a member of the Constitutional convention. The phrase "separation of church and state" is taken totally out of context of the letter it is taken from. I pray to God that this ruling can and will be reversed, and things can be returned to the way they were. Otherwise we will just keep seeing the moral decay of this nation continue to worsen before our eyes. God bless!!

Satan is the root cause of this, he is the cause of all evil. It is said in the Word, that perilous times are going to come, well I think they are already here and it is going to get much worse.

    Bad parenting.

If the parents had to pay the price for their rotten offspring you'd see a whole lot less of this nonsense and either a whole lot of more interested parents or a whole lot of people not having kids.
