Special Operations preparation help?
I am interested going into Air Force Special Operations as an STO (CCT). I am well-aware of the training pipeline and requirements necessary. I need to know how to prepare for such a physical, mental, and emotional challenge. I am a very athletic person and I usually max my Air Force PFTs but I would like some suggestions on how to get to that top physical level of a special operator. How do I reach that level?
I am looking for specialized special forces workouts and not the elementary fitness stuff that is usually included in those purported "SEAL Workout" Books. Are there any truly "hardcore" military workout books out there? Recon Ron? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have a few years to train for the PAST Test and the training pipeline. Also, because I am on Air Force curriculum, we do not have any substantial small arms, combative, or infantry-based training. How do I get my hands on CURRENT FMs for these subjects or whats the best way to learn these skills?
Also, what is the best way to build mental toughness? Which books should I read? What exercises should I do? Any help is appreciated!
I am currently in college at a large public university majoring in International Affairs and Germanic and Slavic languages.

A good workout is:
M: Run 5 miles
T: 3 sets of 50 X pushups, situps, As many pullups as you can
W:run 3 miles
T: 3 sets of 50 X pushups, situps, As many pullups as you can
F: run 8 miles
S:3 sets of 50 X pushups, situps, As many pullups as you can
Sunday, take off.
Alternate flutterkicks with situps.
Work on lowering your run times
If a pool is available, swim laps using breast stroke or side stroke( 500 meters) on the days you run.
Try and work up to 5 sets on pushups, situps and pullups.
Buy a ruck and good boots, load ruck with 35 lbs.
Move 8 mile run to Wednesday and on fridays, do a 5 mile ruck march, trying to maintain a 15 min per mile pace.
As your fitness level increases, move to a 8 mile ruck march.
Then try to maintain a 12 min per mile pace.( on roads)
Don't worry about learning the other skills, they will teach you the right way.
To be more mentally tough, get educated.
Mental toughness is the ability to think under stress.
Start taking college class's on base.

You can buy the U.S. Air Force Special Operations Training Handbook at Target Stores for under 100 bucks.
If you can put up with the mind games, you will do well.
You don't have to be a body builder to complete special operator courses. Believe it or not, most of special operators are of average build.

actual the answer is none of them. some occupation fields in each and each and every of the facilities could be useful. notwithstanding, in case you want to be James Bond, get a job as an actor. the actual international of commerce craft and the films are 2 decidedly different beasts. all of us could nicely be a secret agent (to apply your time period) the correct Intelligence business enterprise hires case officials contained in the clandestine service and they recruit "spies". when you're heavily fascinated in the form of occupation, then get your degree, study (fluently) a overseas language and performance a company operating understanding of international concerns.
