Was my dog's mating unsuccessfull??
I am posting this question only to find out an answer or some helpful information. If you have something negative to say or lecture take it else where cause i dont have time for people to sit behind comp. & act like a tuff person that they wouldnt be in real life... NOW TO MY QUESTION. It's been a long time since i've bred any of my dogs an we dont do it often. My female mated with the stud successfully 4 times, they were tied for about 20 min. each time. No complecations. When they did mate it was the second week of her heat & her bleeding was very light, just a tint of pink. But since they mated. We are now in the third week & she is bleeding agian a littler darker but not heavy. Is this normal? Or does this mean the breeding was unsuccesfull. We don't put her near the male anymore due to the fact we dont want diff. aged pups to be born & some end up dead. So i figured maybe someone out there could inform me. Thank you!
Ok. Will everyone read down & read everyone's comments. There were a few with good advice but MOST of the ppl leaving comments act like they know everything. But yet ALL of the the comments ppl let contradict each other. No one is saying the same thing! So who is right & who is wrong, to be bashing me! i never said my dog was bred & had puppys FOUR TIMES. She mated this heat FOUR TIMES! An for the record she stopped bleeding today! An was at the vet this morning & is healthy & fine! And No this isnt the same dog that had puppy's 5 months ago. If you read what i said in my previous statement!

That doesn't sound good. There will still be a little light bleeding even after mating. But there should be nothing like that after a couple weeks. Sounds like maybe the pregnancy was terminated, or just unsuccessful. Wait to see your vet to be sure. Depending on her age, health ect., it could be many things. She won't breed to the point of having different aged pups.....I don't know where you got that? That's just crazy talk there. Good luck, and please do some research on breeding dogs (or get her spayed), because that last statement scares me!!

No need to warn me, I would tell you what I thought whether you were standing in front of me or you were behind my computer screen.
I think if you have bred before you would already know that she still finishes her heat and it has nothing at all to do with whether she is pregnant or not. You have to either wait and see, or take her to the vet to find out for sure. She won't come out of heat if she is pregnant..
Oh and breeding her 4 times, you still risk the puppies being born at different ages / stages.. You won't prevent puppies from dying by breeding a litter and then asking questions.. You should learn first then do it.
When you drive a car, you learn to drive then you take the car on the road.. You do it the other way around and you are in serious trouble.. Same with breeding your dog...

You need to check with a vet. Whenever you breed a dog you need to follow up with a vet visit. I know you are trying to save money but breeding is not about money but rather preserving the integrity of the breed. In the end you end up spending more money than you make so long as you are being responsible. No one on here can give you an honest answer, only a vet. Here is a good web site to help you with further breeding questions. Please, do your research prior to jumping into breeding.

This is a vet question. It doesn't sound normal for her to bleed darker close to the end of her season. I can't tell you what it is exactly...but a call to your vet would be the wisest thing to do.

Get the dog to the vet NOW! While you are there - you might check into spaying her! I work rescue & we get HUNDREDS of dogs a year that were bred by people like you. You get money & the dogs get abused, neglected, living with Michael Vick, & killed! Go volunteer your time at a kill shelter! You are missing out on the reality - your dog is bleeding & all you care about is your "success"! GO TO THE VET & stop trying to save more money by asking on Yahoo!

It's hard to tell. When I bred my Great Danes, the ***** bled heavier the last week than her first after 3 successful matings. She ended up having 5 healthy pups, 1 water puppy, and one runt. It just depends on your female. I do suggest that you spay and nueter unless you are working to improve the breeds bloodline. I'm not preaching/ just saying. It's good you stopped breeding her. Usually my bitches won't breed if they are still bleeding, but I know some do. How far apart were the four breedings? Has your ***** been bred before. Please clarify.

You don't breed often, but you've bred this particular ***** four times? Please, take her to the vet and have her properly checked. The veterinarian an tell you if she is pregnant or not.

why are you not calling your vet - might cost you a few bucks & cut into your profit?
sounds like you aren't very knowledgeable about dogs

Is this the same dog who just had pups five months ago?
Hopefully she didn't take. Hopefully (if she's lucky) she's infertile and can't have any more pups.
