yes you can have problems with your joints if you over work your body...if you combine running with weight training you can easily avoid this problem...i have no idea about the bladder thing but it sounds unrealistic to me...dont let the fear of this keep you from running!! there are too many benefits to be gained from it to not do it just because of minor risks that may not even be true

Well technically yes running isnt very good for your joints, but im pretty sure only if you do it consistantly. Like even going jogging/running for a year or two or doing track or anything wouldnt mess you up too much, if at all. Our bodies were made with running in mind back from when our ancestors were living in jungles hunting for food (haha). Im not sure with the whole bladder thing but I would say running has more pros than cons because it has a much better impact on your organs and physical/mental fitness, than it does hurting your joints.
Source(s): 3 of my uncles run marathons consistantly and even though ive heard running is supposed to damge your joints long term, if never heard any of them complaining. - tictacLv 41 decade ago
No, it is not true. Actually it's the other way around. Running/jogging is a pretty good exercise that you do to help keep fit. But if your actions are too big or too hyper, then yes it could cause problems with your joints. Be careful of that, and always do warm-up exercises in beforehand.

well, i dont know about the bladder thing, but you must be careful with running when you are about 13-17. your knees grow the most at that time, so if you dont take care of them, you will get shin splints or muscle spasms around the knee, which will lead to swelling. running on pavement is the worst, if you must run, the treadmill is the best place

Running can cause problems with your joints, but it doesn't have to. BUT, even if it does it's not because you're a girl!!! Men get joint pain too!!
