What could numbness in your fingers mean?

Question

My mom has started having numbness in her fingers. She is seeing the doctor tomorrow which is good and she'll probably get an MRI. Now though I am worried because what if it was a stroke or something serious. (I am crying as I type this.) If anyone has any ideas please reasure me. :-) Thanks.

it could be a pinched nerve from the neck...arthritis, not to worry and it is not a stroke....you would know if it was...this is not...try not to worry to much, I know it is hard...something in the neck has probably been pinched or slipped/bulging...the mri will show what is going on...you'll be okay...best of wishes for a speedy positive results!

Welll, my own mother has inherited this thing where her hands and feet don't circulate blood as well as most ppl do, so they are cold all the time and usually get pretty numb..I would know because I (unfortunatly) have inherited this as well.hahah.  I will also be praying for your mother, just in case. God bless!! :]]

except you're out getting frostbite, it must be you have a blood grant flow difficulty on your palms or different extremities. If this has been occurring for extra suitable than 2 weeks you may see a doctor...

may be there isnt enough blood flow to the fingers. you should massage her hands to increase blood flow.

you may be getting upset for nothing. It could be carpal tunnel wich is not a big deal . at least she is getting medical attention.
