I'm answering questions for my application and i was wondering what colleges look for in their answers? what kind of contributions? (other than monetary)

they want you to be impressive, they like having impressive people associated with themslves, it makes them look good. and the better they look, the more they can charge the next person.

Club, civic org., maybe religious ones, scouting, community volunteer work, etc, and who knows why colleges want anything they require.
