This pass week MSNBC. com gave did a piece on all the candidates. I feel Ron Paul did wonderful on the opinion polls. I think he doesn't get much attention because the media is truly afraid of him.
I feel that Ron Paul is the best candidate. Do a google search on Ron Paul. You'll come across his voting record and his opinions and speeches.
He has voted 100% against tax increases. He is dead set opposed to big government. He is opposed to the war in Iraq. You need to do your homework. We can't do it for you.

Ron Paul is what one would call a Traditional Republican. He is in favor of greatly reduced role foreign policy, is in favor if immediate pull out of the middle east, restoring habeus corpus and other civil rights, and is for much smaller government that does not impede on people's rights and does not force the state to support them. (e.g, no universal healthcare, no social security, etc.), And on things such as abortion, though he's personally against it, he feels that it is something that should be a state's issue, and not one decided by the federal government.
Ron Paul originally ran as a Libertarian a few years ago, but he's the perfect example of the nature of the political spectrum, you go Radical left enough, and you're not much different from a reformatory right.
His political views are so unlike either party that he really does stand out, which is what many people are liking about the guy

Ron Paul is a Libertarian and strict constitutionalist. If it is not specifically called for in the Constitution, he'd like to abolish it. He'd do away with most agencies and departments in the federal government. No IRS for example. He acknowledges that he'd be unable to achieve much of what he'd like working alone. I appreciate his response in the last debate to the question about presidential powers of going to war without getting Congress to authorize it. Paul said, "open up the Constitution." My opinion is that government must do more than the founding fathers envisioned and proscribed. Ron Paul gets points for truth telling in many regards but his positions on most matters are not workable.

He's one of those crazy politicans who just throws out Molotov cocktails at the debates. The funniest part is that he always refers to some "Constitution" thing to make his points, as if it has some sort of authority over American politics.
Seriously though, he's a libertarian, anti-Iraq candidate running (for some reason) as a real Republican. But he's doing fairly well, compared to third parties, so maybe he knows what he's doing after all.

His major principles are:
Small government. - Get rid of the bureaucratic bs (IRS, DOE, and other useless and expensive government departments)
Non-interventionalist (not to be confused with isolationist) foreign policy.
Reducing the debt.
Personal rights.
Private property rights.
This interview explains most of these issues better than I can:
