Is so-called coach Mike Gundy's tirade anything but a publicity stunt.?

I've seen it a dozen times and I can't help thinking this guy is a loose cannon. Somebody says he's sticking up for his player. Ok, but a simple phone call to the reporter would be fine. To dress her down in public, acting like a bully, disrestecting her, is nothing but a sexist piece of crap by a loser of a little boy.

This guy is an idiot and I can't believe the school puts up with his crapola. To take off on a reporter like he did was gutless. He could easily have handled behind closed doors. But no, he had to grandstand and make a jackass of himself. But at least now everyone knows he's not worth two cents. Good luck to him when he gets fired down the road and can't get a real job. He loses some games so he has to do something to psych his team...and his coaching can't. So he picks on a girl. Wonderful guy, Gunhotair is.

I don't think a coach at a D-1 school in the Big 12 would pull a publicity stunt, they are concerned with winning games and the well being of their players. But were his actions inappropriate? Yes.

I think the fact that she's a woman is overshadowing the issue here. Yes, if she were a man, she may not have gotten so much criticism, but it was very disrespectful of her to personally attack that player. I think Gundy was speaking with lots of emotion, and didn't handle it in the most positive way, but given the circumstances, he was right for standing up for his player.

I don't see it as a publicity stunt. I agree, there was no need to go absolutely nuts like that during press conference time, but I don't blame him for what he did, given the circumstances. If you want to criticize a player for their athletic ability, go right ahead. But there's absolutely no reason to make it personal.
