Is Yahoo! Answers any fun anymore?

Yes, it is still fun when someone seriously asks a question and you really help them find what they were looking for. I also enjoy asking questions and participating in polls. The ice is getting thin though.

Due to trolls and stalkers using so many accounts, it is losing its purpose. Some days I log in and don't see any real questions, just the same pack of wolves posting the same questions so they can build up another profile. What do they think when an account is a year old and has answered zero questions, but has voting points? Some clearly have only chosen the same answerer for every question they have asked. Then I see a questions where all the answerers profiles were created the same day as the asker. Its no secret that they agree with themselves.

God forbid that they find out anything personal about you. Then, you have questions on your category that have more to do with exposing any weakness they think you might have than the subject. Example- answer a question in "Injuries" trying to help someone avoid more nerve damage. The next day there are 10 questions about what the best martial art is for people in a wheelchair, or people with MS. Its a little sick and really sad that some answer you give could anger one of these little clowns enough to spend so much of their lives obsessing over strangers. Why bother wasting the bandwidth to report them, when nothing is done? (I have had to remove my E-mail and block my Q&A as well.)

The other thing is when you see a question that has maybe 5 totally wrong answers. You post the correct information with the sources and the next day the other five answers change to follow your view, even using the same links. Offering them free gifts for points is perhaps one of the most nonsensical solutions of all time. Was everyone else sleeping the day the day that was suggested? The thing is people offer solutions to these problems when asked, then they change the layout or something else that doesn't really matter to anyone outside of the YA graphic arts department. It shouldn't surprise us as Yahoo Chat, Clubs, Groups, all failed for the same reasons.

Anyway, that's my rant. I know some really qualified people have stopped participating altogether, and most of us have slowed down a lot. I agree, the P&S is the best place to get a good variety of answers no matter what the subject of the question.

Not really. I seem to find that many questions are almost all the same questions are being asked over & over again. Mostly on the Singles & Dating category. The only questions I am asking or answering are unique questions that has been asked rarely or no one has ask at all. I would submit a common question but only if its a last resort. Nowadays, I am looking for unique questions to answer or ask. I guess some people feel the same way & that's why less people come here & participate.

I feel the same way as you do. P&S is the safest place to be and the place to have whatever fun we can. I'm not trying to teach anyone anything (my goodness, we're on the internet to start off with) or have them share my beliefs. I like the companionship and the humor on P&S but I answer serious questions with serious answers if I have anything to contribute. I don't know what I'm trying to say except I'm mainly on here for the fun. If it ever completely stops being fun and entertaining, I will be gone. After all, the pay isn't all that good.

Not really. I spend most of my time in the video game, adolescence, and religion and spirituality sections. These places are overrun by trolls who fill up the place with stupid questions that get people fighting for hours, so instead of posting questions, they spend time saying how stupid, ugly, or fat some person they don't even know is. I wish they made you take an IQ test or something to get on here, so the people with brains of children couldn't invade and destroy Yahoo! Answers.

Not really. The trolls run this place nowadays. I come here and spend more time watching my back than actually having fun.

However, now and then, I do try to interject a little humor through my questions or answers. Let's see how fast they delete them. It seems the Ayatollah Yamster has no sense of humor and has declared a jihad on jokes.

Hello, Sixty odd years ago people were encourage to report any "wrong going on in their judgement" and punishment was metered out unjustly in many cases, so whats changed nothing. You answered your own question Fear take that away and we get freedom as it is Yahoo is biting the hands that feeds them. One "report it" from 10,000 people can seal you fate is this justice no so come on Yahoo time to put your thinking caps on.

Actually, "Tricky Dick Nixon" was, by today's standards a saint by comparison to the likes of Clinton and Obama! He was absolutely brilliant when compared to Carter! He certainly was better than Bush but not as good as Regan! Now please, as a fellow Veteran go do a little History research and you will find that it was JFK and more so, LBJ that got us in the huge mess in Vietnam with over 500,000 troops in country! Yes this was the situation when Nixon took over from LBJ! Nixon got us to the Peace table, pulled almost all of the troops out and then Ford finshed it. Yes Democrats got us into it and Republicans got us out of it. (I was there, yes, I was in the Room in Vietnam when the White house was notified via phone that "phase one" of the withdrawl was completed)! Clinton was a pansy ax@ that played with Monica while the terrorists blew up our embasies, our ships, our marine barracks and bombed the world trade center the first time!, and who can forget "Black Hawk Down" He always said "We will track them down and bring them to justice". Well he never did! My next door neighbor who is a Navy Vet was on the USS Cole when it got bombed and waited many years for the capture of those responsible, under Bush he was captured, only to have your hero "Obama" stop the prosecution of the terrorist! Please come tell him what a great President Clinton was and our great Obama is! I will give him your message and I am sure He will be glad to take your message to the families of those that died as they were all his friends and he stays in touch with their families! Back to "Tricky Dick", yes the guy that got us out of Vietnam and opened up China! Probably the best foriegn policy President of our times! and you put him down for watergate? this after all the lies, deception of Obama? Oh how about the Hillray "Sniper fire" incident? You, as a Vietnam Vet, How many people do you know of other than John Kerry who "demanded" of his commanding officer to be awarded a "Purple heart" and then when turned down waited for a new C O and demanded it again! Some Hero he was! How can you as a Veteran do that (rant against Republicans)? I don't care if you are a Democrat or Republican but please show your colors as a patriot! No, it's not fun at all. All the workers here have made it terrible and so I decided I won't be back. Sorry guys, but you won't be seeing me on here much, if at all.

NO... Answers stopped being fun a long time ago when the people who run Yahoo decided they would rather have the tweens, teens and early twenties rather than adults.

This is also why Yahoo stock is worth about 1/4th of Google... Google is run by ADULTS who know that ADULTS are the ones who click on links for expensive cars and other luxeries.

I just started on here and I do not know but I will say that the guidelines do suck. They are too strick and sure people will leave but I do think that this can help people.
