What will you do with your thumbs?
Asalam alaikum, what will some of you do with your thumbs (down) while I am away in Jordan/Yemen? So those of you who send me 'hate mail' will have to find someone else to be mad at while Im gone....I challenge you to do one thing though, and that is find a scholar who disputes any of my answers...remember, we might hate a thing that is good for us, but like one that is not. Ask yourself do u really dis-agree with what I say, or is it because we have become way too easy on ourselves Islamically. This world is a prison for the beleiver...its not supposed to be easy. Salaams..
PS< Ill be looking forward to seeing, a few of the br's in Cairo in a few weeks, Insha'Allah...
ok, ill try to be brief.
1. I accept my army pension ( appx 12000 le per month)as I never engaged in offensive war...and although one could argue it comes from the kafir or whatever, I was not a muslim when i earned it....I have cleared it with scholars, but I understand where it may look odd from a certain view point.
2. I can afford to do all these things, because my wife and i live simply. She lives in Her Parents flat in Nasr city. Yes it is quite nice, and she even has rich relatives, but I support her...I live here the masjid and a small place I have in Idaho.
3. My avatar was changed when i finally figured out how to do it. That is an old picture. but even so it was no showing my arwa or anything...but point taken.
4. I dont speak hate or anysuch thing. ANd I may have only been a muslim 4 years...but ive spent those 4 years learning the religion, not worshipping as i found my people doing. if u do ANything, LEARN the religion
im sorry to make this longer...but it was each that or ask another question.
Ok I have NEVER called any regular here a name...NEVER. I may say "are you a fornicator" OR "Do u really think youre on the right path" be careful what u accuse me of....i am Very careful with my words. English is My First language so no offense, but u may at times misunderstand the way i phrase something....even my wife who speaks english as well as anyone here gets me incorrect at times. (ok i did call beck a jerk)
moderation....in islam...does this mean watching serials on tv and listening to pop music..I dont think so...it means not fasting Everyday, not Praying alllllll night, as was the practice of some companions.
What are u first, an Egyptian or a Muslim? Egypt is nice, alhamdulillah...America has good aspects...but both have Very serious problems, that come from putting Nationalisim Before Islam. Ok ill stop now...have to pack...
I Never mean to be 'holier than thou" except by my good deeds. We should all be in competition in this, for the sake of Alllah. I will say that even a sinner such as myself has the Obligation to try and correct others mistakes...But point taken.

Muslims must be humble, and remember to always study and never stop studying, and also we are simple human beings who can not and should not judge others. Only Allah can do that. I am also a convert and really learned nothing after 11 years of study, until I had the opportunity to live in the middle east for 8 years, I hope you can understand what I mean by this. I hope you have a good trip, and inshallah, we will all have a better understanding of each other. See you when you get back. Peace to all here! Salamz

Asalaam alaiykum brother Adam, I hope that you have a safe trip to Jordan/ Yemen innashaAllah.
May I suggest to you that you take some time to look within yourself, for I hear from your words "a holier than thou" attitude and that is not what being a good Muslim brother or sister is all about. You may find that you have placed too much credence on your ability as a scholar and a purveyor of The Message of the Holy Prophet pbuh.
This is I hope unintentional but it shows the consequence of being perhaps too introspective in your outlook of the world and too hasty in your judgement of others.
Those who are unfamiliar with the real message and tenets of Islam could quite easily assume that it is a faith that promotes the requirement of self depravation and austerity, this is far from the reality of the Islam that I know, practise and love.
Please, for your own sake and those affected by your words and actions try to see and acknowledge the freedom of spirit, grace, beauty and love that Islam offers its followers for it is not and never has been recondite.

Brother Adam and sister Fatma,
I have the utmost respect and admiration for all reverts and i consider them more fortunate than those born into Islam. However, u missed a very important and crucial fact in calling people to Islam that our religion is very peaceful and u should take this approach when talking to people.
Islam is not how u r dressed but rather how u portray yrself and yr actions. "Ad3ou ella sabeel rabekoum bel7ekma walmau3ezat al7asana" that means call people to follow the path of Allah swt with wisdom, patience and good sense. Not by calling most of us bad names and saying we r not on the right path we cannot judge each other that is not for us but for Allah swt.
With that said, i have to second zoser that Egyptians are very tolerant people and we took all yr negative comments about our history and our monuments which we DO NOT worship but respect the people who helped make them and thank Allah for his grace in keeping them till this day to show us what humans and Egyptians can do.
Salam to u and yr wife and by the way i do not thumb u down.

Good luck with Yemen mate, you deserve to know more about religion as you seem like you're on a wierd hate vibe, which is probably caused by a bad experience in your life.
Be careful though because from what I've seen in your replies before, it shows that you can be easily led and what makes it worse is that you are going to Yemen which is full of those types of extremists...I'd recommend that you please do not go back to Egypt, it has had enough of this type of people that has caused nothing but grief and sorrow to its people.
Sorry to be blatant dude, but God, Islam or any other religion never said to have hate in your heart like you have! And by the way, you did call this poor girl that wanted to go to Egypt to marry this guy who was asking about the hotels and if they would let her stay with her future husband a Fornicator, so again Mr., does Islam allow lying???? Or is it only in your Islam???
Second, with regards to the army pension that you are still receiving, I don't know which scholars that have guided you through this, but you are just acting the same like the Extreme Islamic groups in Europe who live on Benefits that are paid by working people's taxes and preach hate against the west who are actually helping them survivie.
I agree with Isadora when she said that Dogs bite the hands that provides them with food.
God bless you dude....

Adam..i believe you are very indulged in what you preach and i reckon you are a good person because you mentioned once that you (and your wife) heal people for free sometimes and you do that for Allah..my point is..The "truth" is never easy as it might appear to you (ISLAM is the solution..etc..)
I just want to ask you something..pease read some more about the history of Islam and not only from the point of view of religion..but from historical standpoint and from "trusted" sources as i know you were warned to read any other sources beside the religuous view of history, find out how "Islam" - as you know it - is in your hands right now and have scholars and professionals to talk on its behalf...

Look I am American and kept studying and became extreme to the point I lost my identity. I wore naqab for a couple of months and I wasn't happy with anyone or anything, in fact I was filled with hatred but kept going at it because, I seen others in halaqa's and other groups so impressed with me, memorizing surahs and knowing alot about the religion having read all the time. I would say salaam alicom to others muntaqiba's in streets and never get a reply and that would anger me. Part of this was always about others.
Then a change occured, I read the book, "The sealed nectar" sorry to say I couldn't get through the book, it had too much war in it. I wanted to return back to peace, tolerance and love for others. I began to look inward.
God gives all of us free choice, that's a given right by him that created us. We have to give that to others too, all that we can control is ourselves, if others want to know or learn more, there are plenty of books out there.
I choose to believe that God is love, he is one and that he cares for all his created creatures. I became more accepting of others, I used to condemn others, look down upon them, cry when I see the call for prayer and people walk past the mosque. "Do not kill yourself over them, if God so willed he would make all of them believers."
Now I am more liberal and I feel great, being able for the first time to accept others, tolerate others beliefs knowing its right for them, and to let go and let God do his job, its not my job. I have adopted that view, that it's not my business, anything going on around me, in the streets, how people act, what they wear, what ever else comes to mind, all I can control is me, to become more loving, you will attract more when giving unconditional love, acceptance and friendship.
Please take the good from all sources and do away with anything that is negative, hurtful or harmful to yourself and others.
Peace.

well adam you got to anticipate thumbs down if you say things like "this world is a prison for the believer", you got to be very unhappy and not at all convinced by actions you are forced to make, waiting for death ?
how could have god possibly created us to imprison us, life on earth is not a prison and death won't be your 'delivrance'..
in the children of israel, 17.8: It may be that your Lord will have mercy on you, and if you again return (to disobedience) We too will return (to punishment), and We have made hell a prison for the unbelievers
where do you get that notion of suffering from ? i guess you are, and by suffering you won't get any closer to god
there is no pain associated with religion, are you overdoing it ? and how will you possibly keep it up ?
the more you complicate things the better muslim you become ? is that what they've been feeding your brain ?
who is teaching you islam ?
somebody is turning you into a timebomb
on the other hand, if you are practicing reverse psychology, chapeau, good job ;-)

what goes around comes around, i have seen you give horrible answers to people in this section, maybe while you are away you will begin to listen instead of telling others that they lack iman!
the hate mail you are referring to you know all about this issue, so don't play on here now, last week you called someone about to get married to an Egyptian a fornicator, ya salaam, you know what i did, i spoke to that person by phone and apologised for your rudeness and said that your answer doesn't represent Egyptians or Islam! They said that luckly they knew this and just ignored your answer, in that case!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Adams Wife, do you think that people like isodora and myself did not give adam chance time and time again on this issue (for example i was so upset that he would project Islam and Egyptians in the way that he did on here last week, i emailed a questioner took the phone number and called the questioner at my expense for 30 minutes- who has time for this!), read old answers and questions and you will understand what has your husband been saying to others. Of course we all love our husbands and no one wants it to appear that a husbands view is being oppressed, so in this case i highly suggest you read through his pervious questions and answers and then maybe you will understand why people are upset with his views. We understand he is a revert, this is why 99% people try to educate and share but it seems that in your husbands words "Egyptians are lacking in Iman" so he defined himself God to see in peoples hearts!
Yet no one has call him bad only his views extreme, no one wants you to loose the father of your children to a rendition flight so please take care of how he projects his views until he has spent more time knowing islam.

Assalamu alaikom wr wb my dear beloved kind hubby.....masha'Allah my dear insha'Allah what u get from sisters or the brothers here from the offensive answers conceals ur sins ....u write ur answers for the sake of Allah. Only Allah has the right to reward or punish us ....... so sisters (isadora and AA) jazzakom Allahu khairan u took the effort to write and write masha'Allah ,im not saying that to deffend my husband as Allah has promised( in Allah yudafe3 3an allazeen Amanuh) however sister as muslims we should give people the right of the doubt specially if he/she is a revert for less than 4 years and he has been surpassing me learning the religion. i remind my self be4 others that in islam (and thats the beauty of our religion) we are obligated to react upon the wrong actions and make a change, be postive so that we save each other from hellfire ...goes into different levels.
1st.The hand.....2nd. The word.....3rd The heart
i deal most of my time with reverts....the majority of my sisters are reverts masha'Allah. everyday i see how strict and dedicated they are to the religion just like my husband, it induces the motive inside myself to do more Allahu Akbar .
Alhamdulillah that our dear prophet SAWS taught us to be angry only for Allah's sake . the lower part in me wants to cry seeing people offending my husband whom i love soo much. he is the best for me and to me. however i try to save myself, my anger,my time for Allah , His prophet and the religion.
By the way if any one wants to help us at the clinic ..... its in nasr city too close to where we live , alhamdulillah it has two sections 1. economic section 2. the regular section where people pay and that s how we support the clinic by the grace of Allah.....however sister isadora if u want to share in means of psychological support of the patients this would be very kind of u or anyone else who would like to do sth productive.
life is too short ...lets not watse it in hassels.
finally sister isadora and sister AA jazzakom Allahu khairan for reacting upon our mistakes....wa alaikom assalam wr wb
