Could sudden, excessive, hunger be a symptom/sign of early labor?

I'm 36 weeks pregnant and have started dilating/effacing. I haven't had any real issues with hunger throughout my pregnancy, but today, I can't seem to find enough food. I've been dealing with this now for almost 12 hours. It's been so bad, it woke me up from a sound sleep. In the last 12 hours, I've had the equivalent of about 5 full meals, and I've still got what I'm perceiving as hunger pains. Is it possible that contractions could somehow feel like hunger pains? Or am I just on some weird kick?

I started eating ALOT heavier in my 3rd trimester, so i think its pretty normal and if you were having contractions you will DEFINITELY know about it.

    good luck

Eat protein first. That regularly is helping me whilst I begin in need of to consume like a loopy lady. (It occurs to all folks) I get my protein in, and that maintains off the starvation for awhile.
