Call the local churches in your area. Some will ask for a price and then try to bargain with them to something you can afford. Other churches will not ask, but will expect a 'gift' of a few hundred dollars. Good luck!

Does it have to be a church? What I mean is I think in Ohio you can have a close family member or friend be ordained online and perform the ceremony for you. You could either do this at the reception site on the stage or find a nice park.

Otherwise I would call around a few churches and let them know the situation. Many will work with you either by breaking up your fee into payments or trading off part of it in exchange for volunteer work with things like cleaning after services.

I'm getting married in NE Ohio as well but my uncle's a pastor and his grandparents practically run their church so all that's getting done for free.

consider getting married at a family member or friends nice yard. if you know anyone with a landscaped yard, that would be great. if not, consider your local parks. typically, you only have to reserve the gazebo or whatever your park has, but you don't need to pay a fee. that way, your $200 can go towards having a justice of the peace or other officiant oversee the wedding. another way to save money...have someone you both love get ordained online. then, they can perform the ceremony for free and be a special part of your wedding day memories.

Tallmadge Church www.tallmadgechurch.com they do small weddings for $200.00 and big ones for $400.00. The women Dana who runs it is wonderful. You can check online to see if your wedding date is available. I know that it is not cleveland, but it is only about 30 to 35 minute drive there. I live close to cleveland, and i totally loved this little church, i didnt care how far away it was.. Oh and i am having a freind of the family marry us. But there are alot of officiants you can find online.

Good Luck to you.. And Congrats.

There is a chapel that might be able to help you out. I don't know their cost. But check them out http://www.grandpacificjunction.com/weddinglinks.s...

There are other wedding related services there too. I've been to the Bridal Consignment shop. I have a few of my wedding items for sale there too. I was so impressed.

Check out the pastors in your area by looking them up in the yellow pages.

My hubby is from north western ohio. He suggested that you contact a non-demoninational minister (unitarian) and see if they can marr you all in your home. You can have a nice reception there as well.

If you were in California, i could have done it for you...

Check around your area, you may find someone that's reasonable. If not maybe the court house is a better idea...
