Should we go to the Dominican Republic or Puerto Rico for a honeymoon?

Been to both several times. Puerto Rico is AMAZING but expensive. If you are going to the Dominican Republic... make sure you are in Punta Cana. In all honesty, you can't go wrong however you certainly can get more bang for your buck in DR considering there is only one all inclusive resort in all of Puerto Rico and it is not close to Viejo San Jaun and all the "life". (it is a gorgeous resort though!! great for a honeymoon..)

I have been to puerto rico and a group of friend went to the DR. Puerto rico was nice but I thought the island was small and not much to do. My friends said in the DR they were not treated well if they left the resort. The local would close the stores and say they were not welcome because they were white. I personally wouldn't go to either place. I really enjoyed the virgin islands and they are located in the carribean also. They cost realitivly the same as the other two places. Very nice beaches and friendly people.

My father was born and raised and died in Chattanooga, Tennessee. When he was in the Army Air Corps he was stationed in Puerto Rico. Every after he sang its praises. Said if he had to live anywhere else in the world besides Chattanooga it would PR. I would opt for there because my dad was a hard man to please, so if he was pleased with PR I think I would enjoy visiting there too.

This is a tough choice. Both would be great. I would choice the Dominican Republic

hey how about Barbados its a great little caribbean island with beautiful beaches and great nightlife just in case you ever want to leave the room.LOL

If not i would coose dominican republic over puerto rico smaller and nicer beaches.

Dominican Republic. PR is very 'American' and DR is more cultural. Also, you will get the most bang for your buck in DR.
