any one please solve this question for me?
Whether the given lines are parallel, perpendicular or none of these.
( y-1)/2= x-3 & 8-2y = x+7
its realy very urgent

I won't anser the question but will tell you how to do it:
Put the equations in the form y = mx+b
m= slope = delta y / delta x
b = y intercept or where the graph crossed the y axis
For perpendicular lines, m1 = -1 / m2 or in other words the slope of the first line is the negative reciprocal of the slope of the second line.

you need to solve both for y
the first one becomes y=2x-5 and the second one becomes y=-(1/2)x+(1/2)
then you look at the slopes
the first slope is 2 and the second slope is -(1/2)
these two slopes are the negative reciprocals of each other which means the lines are perpindicular
I hope that helps

the first equation is ( y-1)/2= x-3
which, in terms of y = mx + b
y = -(1/2)x + 1
the second one
8-2y = x+7
in terms of y = mx + b
y = 2x - 7
the slopes are
(-1/2)x and 2x
if you do (2x)^-1....it is 1/2x
so they are perpendicular

For parallel lines M1 and M2 are equal.
If no relation is found...none of these would be your answer.
