contact AAA- you can get a lot of useful information that way....mambership isn't very expensive and WILL pay for itself!! (just one flat tire or locked keys in your car) :)
good luck with the road trip- feel free to email me- I have been travelling with my kids extensively since they were infants- it can be a hassle- but not if you are prepared!

I don't know about a website, but depeding on your route you could plan to stop and see Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico, the Grand Canyon & the great crater in Arizona.
It's just coincedence that they're all holes in the ground. lol
also in NM is the national space museum in Alamogordo. and In AZ there is the painted desert and the petrified forest.
How about hoover dam?
