Knee was drained twice in less than a wk -blood. Arthroscopic surgery to remove tha plica-3 wks ago. NORMAL??
I'm 15 yrs old and I've had chronic knee pain since January. I had physical therapy for 18 weeks with no relief. I was checked for lyme disease, recieved a cortisone shot (helped for only 8 hrs) and I've gone though 6 different pain medications but none have helped. I had multiple x-rays, an MRI, and a bone scan-all looked normal. I went to 7 doctors (orthopedic surgeons, children orthopedic surgeons, sports injury specialists) and finally on September 25th I had arthroscopic surgery to remove the plica. The next day I felt well enough to go to the library (using crutches to help walk) and with the doctors okay, I went. I was off the crutches for about a week then went back on them b/c I went back to school (after a holiday vacation) and was extremly swollen and in tons of pain! So I've had my knee drained 2x in less than a week and both times blood was drawn. I am a little swollen after going back to school and I want to know if this is normal!
