Has anyone else realised that in Rambo 3, Stallone was effectively fighting FOR the Taliban?
In Rambo 3, Stallone was fighting for the 'resistance' against the Soviet invaders. Fair enough, except that this resistance went on to become the Taliban government and Al Qaeda. How do we feel about this? Can we ever enjoy this movie again?

Sorry LP, you got that wrong and right, pretty smart. See then they were freedom fighters and they were able to shoot down 200+ Russian jets and choppers because we gave them the stingers. I am glad the Russians don't hold grudges or we would be losing much more in Iraq and we are losing too much as it it.
Pretty smart of you to bring that up though. Can we look at Sly in the same way? Wonder if he is going to make another movie. He is a pretty good actor and should. If he doesn't he is short changing the world. I enjoyed the one with Kurt Russell even though it got hokey.
Freedom fighters and AK go figure. Take care.

Right.
What they did was make portray him as working for the USA, which is was. They fail to explain or illustrate that the USA assisted the Taliban, and later some of them became Al Qaeda, against Russia's invasion into Afghanistan.
