i had a baby 6 months ago? is this normal?

my son was born about 6 months ago and i still eat like i'm pregnant. is that normal? or am i pregnant again? the birth control i'm on, keeps me from having my period. help please.

Update:

i don't have the weird cravings like i did when i was pregnant but i still eat alot like i did when i was pregnant. i'm formula feeding my son. i tried breast feeding, but it just wasn't working out that well.

Update 2:

the brith control i'm on is called Mirena IUD. It is estrogen-free, 99.9% effective and can be used for up to 5 years. here is more information about it if you need more. http://www.mirena-us.com/index.jsp hope that helps things.

I had a baby almost seven months ago, and I do too.... I eat ALOT. I also breastfeed though, so I know that has something to do with it.

I gained too much weight with my pregnancy ( 50 lbs), but even with my eating habits, I have lost all but 4 or 5 of that so far, so I am not worried about it.

If you are not losing your baby weight, and need to, then I would be concerned (and suggest speaking with your doctor about it), but if not, then I say no worries. :)

What kind of birth control are you taking? I took that shot that makes you not have a period. It was horrible. I ate and ate and went from a size 3 to a size 8. It happened so fast that I got stretch marks.

Are you breastfeeding? Women who are breastfeeding need more calories than even pregnant women.

If you aren't breastfeeding, it could be that the birth control is making you have that big of an appetite. Talk to your doctor about the possible side effects of whatever kind you are on.

question: eating like you're pregnant as in pickles and ice cream, or eating like your pregnant half a pizza at a time? Very different problems with very different answers.

i think you just have to re teach yourself how to eat for just you again. i was like that too. only i didn't take bc. but i still looked pregnant. just try and eat small porportion of food, and you'll start to eat normal again.

its really hard to comment on eating habits ... but generally women go back to normal diet after pregnancy ... try to avoid it ... it could be that your diet is gone a step ahead.
