Nicky Hayden's Sepang Test?

This kid has just gone up in my books.

I have just a finished a chat with "proc" regarding Ben Spies Sepang test being cancelled, and we both agree that Nicky Hayden #1 is a tropper for going out in the soaking rain and dailling in his wet weather riding skills.

'ickle Dani, did not want to play in the puddles so he miss's out.

Well done Nicky. I for one am glad to see him getting back on form. What do you think his chances are for 2008? Im going for top 5 in the championship.

Full test report here : http://www.motogp.com/en/motogp/motogp_news.htm?me...

& here : http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2007/Oct/071022a.ht...

Also, a 2.19 lap time is very impressive, a super dry time is 2.02

Whether its true or not a lot of people (myself included) have thought Nicky is out there on the best bike in the best team , not getting results but keeping the contract as he helps sales in the US (really I suppose it would only make sense for Honda).

I have to admit though that it looks like the honda really is lagging behind. I am sure in part because Nick isnt the best development rider, and in part because Honda techs dont listen. I think it looks like it would have been in his best interests to move to another ride (kind of the opposite of Rossi)- and prove that his bad results this year are actually down to a poor bike.

I admire all riders who have the guts to go out in the rain and do tests. It's true it was a bad season for Nicky but I hope the next one he won't have as much trouble as he did now (although he is not the only one with the problems...)

But having those new riders in mind - like Lorenzo, and the old ones like Pedrosa, Rossi, and of course Stoner, I honestly can't see Hayden in the first five places....

If Honda AND Yamaha don't do something soon, the both teams won't be in the good positions...

Yeah, i think of a million.33 is on the playing cards yet could be no longer at the instant-honored attempt. he would be on his own for this attempt, as Casey has already reported, he is going for the wrist opp, the 1st day after the final GP. saying that, Nicky is not any stranger to checking out on his own. That little Hobbit-bot did fuuk all checking out for the 08 RCV and now needs all the credit for it. I also have a great image in Julian Ryders new 990cc e book of Nicky out checking out at 5.30pm. PM !! Dani became into having a swim in his pool. Livio Suppo will supply Nicky all the help he desires. additionally, dont forget approximately, that's the 1st time because of the fact that Rossi that Nicky has had " a set mate ". That could experience weird and wonderful to start with ! i think of for his first attempt, we could continuously supply him credit for a mid to low a million.34. i'm specific he could be happy with that.

Nicky just keeps testing and testing - its not fair that Dani's allegedly get the new parts first - he does more laps in testing than the rest of the paddock put together (almost).

Hoping he has a better season next year - bet he wishes he went to Ducati instead of Casey....

We were talking to a guy at Mugello, who's the editor of of an american motorsport mag and who co-wrote nicky's autobiography and he hinted that nicky wished he had went to Ducati too.

Yes I agree. he's earning respect. lets not forget Chris vermulen was out there developing the Suzuki that spies should have been on. as for Haydon's time, remember Fridays times on new tarmac were around the 23mark only stoner and depuniet were doing 22s so 19s in the PROPER wet conditions. Looks unlikely Spies will wildcard Valencia now.

    Is motorcycling real.......ha ha.

I think Nicky's going to come back next year and do his very best, just like he does each and every race. I believe it will come down to his equipment, if Honda can hit the mark next year and give him a competitive bike, then I think he can take Stoners crown from him next year. He has the talent and the willpower to get the job done. As for Nicky wishing he had gone with Ducati, he never struck me as a guy who sits around saying "coulda, shoulda, woulda".
