Weaning a baby onto solid food?
Hi, I have a 17week old baby (my 3rd) who is exclusively breastfed and I am researching weaning onto solids. With my other 2, I weaned them at 11wks and 12wks as they were very hungry babies and my HV advised me to. I have heard a lot about Baby Led Weaning and waiting until the baby is 6 months and there are lots of websites to support this, but my problem is that I cant find any actual medical research, just information from the NHS and WHO etc. I just want to be sure that it is based on actual research and not just statistics before I make a decision.
When my 2nd was born the information was back to weaning between 4 - 6 months because of the sudden increase in speech problems (as I was told by my Health Visitor).
Any proper medical research links would be very much appreciated :)

3 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoTaming the Ducati????
Sorry if this question has already been asked - I dont seem to be getting updates on questions lately but..
Looking at Nicky Haydens current run of form ( I know he has only been appointed a chew chief a few weeks ago and that we are only 5 races into the season) but looking at the table at the minute, its not looking good for him. Hes lying 15th with one DNF and the 3 guys behind him have at least 2 DNF's, with 12th being his best finish. I thought that either his or Marco's riding style would have been best suited to the Ducati, esp Nicky, being from a dirt bike background.
My question is if the Duc didnt suit Nicky and Marco - which current rider (from any series), if any, do you think could match Caseys results on the Ducati?
8 AnswersMotorcycle Racing1 decade agoBest way from Salou to Valencia - early morning...?
Im travelling to Salou on Saturday morning and would like to get to Valencia (Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Cheste to be exact) on Sunday morning. The 1st train for Valencia doesnt leave until 9am and arrives in Valencia Nord at 11.30am which is too late and I cannot get a hire car from Reus airport for love nor money. Does anyone know of any car hire places close to Reus airport or in Salou itself, or know of any coaches leaving Salou early on Sunday that are going directly to the circuit?
Thanks.

4 AnswersLanguages1 decade agoMotoGP Tyres 2009................?
I am just watching the Qualifying on Eurosport and Randy, Toby and Julian were talking about the tyres next year. I missed some of it, but the jist I got was that the rumours are that there wont be a single tyre next year, all 5 Ducatis will be on Michelin, Lorenzo and both Repsols will be on Bridgestone. Did I hear right ?
6 AnswersMotorcycle Racing1 decade agoCasey Stoner at Misano?
Does anyone know what compound tyres Casey was using today and were they similar to Vale? What happened to him today and will this affect him mentally for the closing races? I know his wrist is painful, but he seemed to be having a heated discussion with the Bridgestone engineer when he returned to the pits.
Am really pleased that Vale is closer to being crowned WC again :)
10 AnswersMotorcycle Racing1 decade agoJust found this on a website...?
http://www.crash.net/motorsport/motogp/news/167745...
I hope no-one else has posted this, and I apologise if they have.
I know most of you are all on for advancing technology and letting the riders/manufacturers get on with it - but how would you feel if the racing rules went this way.
With the single tyre rule - I really cant see anyone wanting to be with Michelin next year. I really though Rossi had made a mistake going to Bridgestone in 08, but they have been amazingly dominant this year.
Also, I would love to see the rider controlling the throttle again and seeing all those powerslides!!
Or would you scrap all of these and sack Espeleta? ;)

5 AnswersMotorcycle Racing1 decade agoWith the news that the Premierships wages bill topped £1 Billion this year...?
you have to ask yourself if these players are worth the wages they are paid. As much as I like football, I do not think anyone on the planet deserves to be paid £50,000 + per week.
What are your views?

4 AnswersScottish Football1 decade agoPedrosa Crash - Who was to blame?
Have just read on crash.net about Dani's crash and both he and Vale are blaming each other. Did anyone see what actually happened (I was working last night and didnt get to see it)
Vale had said after the Qatar testing that it was hard to judge distances between bikes in the floodlighting...
6 AnswersMotorcycle Racing1 decade agoJust read this and got excited about it?
it seems that Vale's Sepang times are not a stones throw away from Casey's. Roll on next weekend to see how everyones pre-season testing is going....

And the question is ... who's going to get the BMW at Jerez?
My head says Casey, but my heart says Valentino!!!
11 AnswersMotorcycle Racing1 decade agoIm 29 today...?
and my husband is 29 in a few days time and we would really like to do something different sometime this year to mark the last year of our twenties and to make it memorable. Has anyone any ideas? Not too much cash involved either? And we really enjoy an adrenaline rush...
Ideally we would like a lap on the 2 seater Ducati with Randy Mamola, but dont have a spare £5K!!
11 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoColin Edwards...?
I know its only testing and Colin Edwards usually does really well during it, but wouldnt it be great if he finally got a race win this year, instead of going backwards during the race? I have always liked Edwards for his attitude and personality and felt so sorry for him in Assen 06. If not Edwards, who do you think deserves a race win this year.
Its also promising to see JT, Dovi and de Anglis in the top 5 in testing too.
Only 5 weeks to Qatar!!
