Why is Tony Dungy perceived as suck a likable guy?

The guy killed his son with neglect for crying out loud! He picked football over spending time with his son and look what happened. The guy is a joke.

Update:

suck = such by the way. Freudian slip I guess.

Update 2:

Im sick enough to know when my kid needs me.

Update 3:

Go back and look at the stories, his son wanted to spend time with him and he wouldnt.

I agree. Look at Andy Reid's kids.

I guess money and pride mean more to Tony than his son did.

Thats a bunch of BS buddy. You don't know what happened. When people off themselves it is because they have a mental illness. Depression is a sickness, there is no telling if Dungy was around more the kid would not have done what he did anyways. Anyways his kid was already a young adult, like 20 years old. I don't know about you but when I was 20 I did not really hang around my dad much either because I was out partying all night. You don't know what your talking about and that is unfair to make such accusations towards the man.

The man is, I'm sure, is still crushed by his sons death. He was on the sidelines with his father almost every game. I'm sure your just a jealous fan who's looking for any soft spot that will upset Colts fans. It's sad, sad, sad and pathetic that you would use the suicide of a young man as the ammo to piss people off. Grow up. I hope the type of tragedy that touched Dungy family never ever happens to you or anyone you love. Trust me you never get over it and ask yourself constantly if there was something you could have done.

You're ruffling a lot of feathers there dude, but that's a choice every coach in every major sport makes (Pros and college). They don't work 9 to 5 like us, they work 5 am to 11 at night, maybe more.

He's a "likable" guy because of his cool demeanor (sorta Joe Torre-like), defensive prowess and play-calling. Believe me, there is more to that story than just "He neglected his son and the son commited suicide".
