Was Jesus Sent To Be Crucified?

One of the fundamental beliefs of Christianity is that Jesus had died and allowed for the shedding of his blood for the sake of granting forgiveness to people. In other words Jesus had died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins

but when we read the bible deeply we found this is not true

Yes. And Jesus said so of Himself too.

Islam respects Jesus as a prophet, yet disregards the prophecies that Jesus fulfilled in his life, or the prophecies that Jesus predicted about his death.

Mat 26:2 "You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man is {to be} handed over for crucifixion."

That is JESUS talking about how he is going to die. Did JESUS lie? No.

Why then, do Moslems respect what would be considered a false prophet?

It is because Islam is a false religion created by Satan to condemn billions of people to Hell.

what about the old testament prophecies that predicted Jesus's death by hanging on a tree?

If you believe the Koran, you have to disregard 1000's of years of prophecy. Ergo, the Koran is wrong.

    Quran says:

Jesus was never crucified. They never killed him. God took his soul and terminated his life.

3/54 They plotted and schemed, but so did GOD, and GOD is the best schemer.

3/55 Thus, GOD said, "O Jesus, I am terminating your life, raising you to Me, and ridding you of the disbelievers. I will exalt those who follow you above those who disbelieve, till the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is the ultimate destiny of all of you, then I will judge among you regarding your disputes.

    ----

4/157 And for claiming that they killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the messenger of GOD. In fact, they never killed him, they never crucified him-they were made to think that they did. All factions who are disputing in this matter are full of doubt concerning this issue. They possess no knowledge; they only conjecture. For certain, they never killed him.

This is a violation of the fundamental of Christianity. A lie from the father of lies himself - Satan.

    edit---

what is the fate of those that reject Jesus, His sacrifice on the cross and those that follow the false teaching of mohammed?

Bill Weise has written a book, "23 Minutes in Hell" where he describes the sights and sounds of Hell. You can see his testimony on http://www.spiritlessons.com/

    edit--

reading the tripe from your link. It states that Jesus could not have been crucified because there were not 3 days nights for dead. Then the obvious answer is that Tradition that states that Jesus was crucified on Friday was wrong. What then is the answer? There were two sabbaths during the passover week. Jesus was killed on Passover as the lamb offering for the world (on Wed or Thurs). It was the ceremonial sabbath. Therefore, he was in the grave for 3 days and nights.

Enjoyed your book, I will try to make the answer shorter than the questsion. Yes, He was sent into this world to be crucified. That was His mission. At the last moment, knowing what was about to happen, Jesus went to His Father one more time to make sure that this was His will that Jesus suffer this way. I think you would have done the same thing. As to the day Jesus was Crucified, the Bible does not state the day of the week, and we can not tell the day unless we know the year. We do not know that either. I guarantee that the Catholic Church who started this Friday thing, has no idea what year Jesus was crucified even if they say they do. Jesus had to be born before 4 BC and lived 33 years. He could have been born as early as 6 or 7 BC. How could anybody know? So Jesus could have spent 3 days and 3 nights in the center of the earth preaching to those who were lost in the flood. grace2u

Jesus died on a thursday, friday is just a tradition of catholics, who don't know much....

his last supper (wednesday) was with leven bread and so had to be before passover...he then went to the garden to pray wednesday night after dinner.....he was there a long time...so he was arrested early thursday morning about 6 am...he had to be crucified by thursday evening, since friday was a holy day (passover)

this gives 3 full days and nights in the tomb.

no, Jesus did not look forward to being crucified, but submitted to the will of his father. Jesus had the choice of refusing...but since he offered himself ultimately to this task, he is not under the same law as someone who unwillingly gets punished for someone else's sins.

so the death of Jesus , an innocent one, for the sins of others, counts in the eyes of God for the forgiveness of sins..

no other person in history could have even done this.....

  • Um...whatever you're reading is twisted by Satan. The Bible clearly says that Jesus Christ is the once and for all sacrifice for all sin in the world, and...

Jhn 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the wilderness, so I, the Son of Man, must be lifted up on a pole,

Jhn 3:15 so that everyone who believes in me will have eternal life.

Jhn 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

It doesn't get much clearer then that! The Qur'an is littered with false prophecies (because a lot have been proven untrue) and tons of plagiarism from the Bible. I am amazed at how easily people are deceived. Satan is no fool, he knows how to sell you the lie under a small fraction of twisted truth.

Make no mistake about it. Jesus died for your sins, anything else is a Lie. The Holy Bible is very Clear. He who says otherwise is anti christ. John 8:44, Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. Islam is not true, it takes the Bible and tries to twist it their way, Jesus says in John 14:6, Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Jesus was a Perfect Sacrifice on the cross. He washed away our sins. Now all we have to do is believe, his yoke is easy and his burden is light, Salvation is a free gift supplied by Jesus, Read the Bible with an open mind, do not let islam draw you in, Jesus Loves you and wants you to be Born Again. Accept Christ today, heres how, Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. Jesus will now send his Holy Spirit to come and live in your heart and guide you into all truth. If you have any questions just send me an email, God Bless YOU!!

If you remember the time in which Christ was sacrificed you'll see that not only was sacrifice the norm, it was the law. However, I don't believe God needed blood to spill in order to forgive us. We did, and apparently still do the way people still talk about it. God was and is and always will be quite capable of forgiving us without anything happening, least of all the sacrifice that Christ made so we would believe it. He did not have to die, yet he did so we would believe, I think that shows a lot more love than if he really did need to die for us.

No, the Bible is very plain, Jesus was the sacrifice slain before the foundation of the earth. Scripture also teaches that Jesus is the creator God. False religions and cults such as Islam teach otherwise.

Yes, Jesus was crucified, died, and was buried, no matter what MOHAMMAD, or OTHER heretical gnostic-based false prophets say. The Qur'an is NOT the Bible. The Qur'an is a hijacked and altered version of the Bible.

The Qur'an is not true, it's simply a plagiarised version of scripture dictated by a sociopathic murdering looting child loving lying salesman who had delusions of grandeur and epilepsy.

Well what does Jesus say on the subject:

Jesus said to them, "The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of men. They will kill him, and after three days he will rise." Mark 9:31

At the Last Supper he said

"This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins." Mt 26:28

    After his Resurrection:

Jesus told them, "This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day" Luke 24:46

And as for he prayer in Gethesame:

Joh 12:27 "Now my heart is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour."

He declared that his purpose was to be crucified.

    Do you believe Jesus?

Heb 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

so Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many;Heb 10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

Heb 10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

Heb 10:6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.

Heb 10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
