Yes, Jesus was told by God the Father in the beginning that he will be crucified to show how much he love us and to make the scriptures came true. God dont fear to feel the pain for the pain he recieves is a sin from the soldiers who make fun of him. He is not another God's in your fairytales books who always hide in heaven because he is true and one and only. He/himself confront the sinners, feel the pain and died to make the world change and became sinless, To have Justice and have peace as of the world we known today. We are the human who is just a flesh that have wrong doings in this earth and have no shame at all in God!, even though today God still forgive and forgive and forgiving us and so on.. If you believe in him..that's how he love us..

Only the Holy Bible tells the truth about Jesus Christ. He is the non-created son of God. There is no one like him. He was in heaven before creation and created all things with His father and the HOly Spirit. When the time was right, he became human with the agreement with the Father that we would be put to death by the shedding of his blood...when the time was right. Jesus willing came from heaven, willing walked in a human body and willing walked to the Cross. He is the only sacrifice for all of mankind. By the shedding of his blood and he rising from the dead....all men can be forgiven...if only they believe.

Christians believe that Jesus came to die on the cross because he himself stated that was his purpose. In Matthew 20:28 Jesus stated "Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many." HE made many similar statements about his purpose.

At the Garden, he was tempted to turn from that purpose, and even prayed that if there was alternative that God take it. But as there was no alternative, he went to the cross.

As for the "three days and three nights", you only have to do the math to get them. Ralize that on the Jewish clock, any part of a day is counted as the whole thing, with the day beginning at sunset. Jesus died on Friday, and rose on Sunday morning. That gives you Friday, Saturday and Sunday as the three days. The nights begin on Thursday night when they ate the passover together. At that point Jesus bacame with Passover Lamb, and as such was separated from God by spiritual death. He remained in that condition (as well as being physically dead) through Friday and Saturday night.

Last time I count, Friday, Saturday and Sunday were three days, and Thurday, Friday and Saturday were three nights. That fulfills the prophecy.

You would find it hard to argue from the gospels or epistles that He didn't come to die for us. Also the Isaiah 53 prophecy is all about the atonement. In the Synoptic gospels (Matt, Mark, Luke) you will find that Jesus increasinlgy talks about having to be sacrificed to his disciples after the Transfiguration - they don't really understand.

In true Islamic faith we are told by the Quran that we must respect all relegions of Abraham, both the christian and jewish faith as they are both decendent from the same god as islam believes in. Jesus was a normal man, like any other. He died because he was a patriot for his people, the Jews, not because he was divinly sent to die for the sins of a multitude of gentils because it is well known that the Jews only really care for the Jews. Matthew 26:39 "And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt."

It is very clear from the above verse in Matthew 26:39 that Jesus had no intention of dying. In this verse it is shown that Jesus was praying strongly (Matthew mentions that Jesus repeated these prayer three time) to have this death removed from him. Had Jesus Christ been sent to be crucified he would not have hesitated to be killed at all. When I relate this to my Christian brothers, they tell me that this hesitation comes from the flesh side of him (in other words he was tempted), and that his soul which is godly does not have this hesitation at all. When we look at Matthew 26:38 we see that Jesus is contradicting this idea by saying, "My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death." (Matthew 26:38). He himself says that it really his soul that is hesitating and not his body. These are Jesus' own words.

After Jesus made the above mentioned prayer he was answered by God according to Hebrews 5:7 "Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared." These words clearly show that when Jesus was praying strongly to God, God would grant him his request. The word "heard in that he feared" (Hebrews 5:7) mean that God granted him what he requested. So the above verse shows that when Jesus asked of God to "let this cup pass from" (Matthew 26:39) him, God respond to his prayer and saved him from death or crucifixion.
