... and could you provide a link to it please. I'm not really interested in customised VBA code but would be interested in how creative people can be within the confined environment of a regular spreadsheet or workbook environment.

Well, Andrew, it's Pacman, written entirely in and for Excel. Yup. I've used it.
Google 'Pacman Excel' and you'll get the download sites. It was written in Japan and the site is Japanese. The instructions are strange (maybe they've been updated), but it is indeed Pacman. Including the music. Yesss.

The spreadsheet has a very powerfull functions that don't exist in regular Excel like CHOOSE and more useful functions on date CHOOSE is very easy to use and give u los of options in programing
