I'm Jewish, but I hope it goes well for you. I love anime too. You should get a good book on screenwriting, it's a pretty specialized area. Also, if you don't speak Japanese fluently this might be a good time to learn :)

Maybe you could also learn to direct so you could make sure your stories get made the way you want.

I did that once, and here is a tip. Keep a log book--for maps, names, dates etc.--it takes a long time and the details become hazy, trust me.
