Is there anything that I can so to help out the firefighters in California?
You see, I live in California and I've seen all over the news and all the reports on the fires. Well i want to to do something about the fires.I have no fierfighting experiance, so i can't really help them put out the fires. But do you think there is something else i can do to help out? Something that a teenage girl can do. Can you give me some examples. Thank you very much! Have a good day!

If you know someone that had to evacuate there home, offer them a place to stay.Or stop by your local firestation and ask if there is anything you can do to help me get back out there.Ask your parents,or talk to a community leader about setting up stations where people can stay.Set up a food and clothing drive.
Im sure there are alot more things you can do,but thats all I can think of.
But again, stop by a firestation and ask someone in charge if there is anything you can do to help!
Good Luck!

You can do like someone suggested, throw money at it, but most of the firefighters, even the volunteers down there are getting paid by the state or the federal gov't because of the size of the fire.... Something more personal would be alot more apprecated. Also alot of the base camps where the food and water is served is done by paid contractors.
1. try to keep your own home fire safe, maybe write a blurb for the local paper about it. while most departments have sent help to the big fires, that means the local departments not near the fire have to take up the slack, and fewer fires for them makes it easier.
2. send get well cards to the injured firefighters or sympathy and thank you cards to the families of the firefighters that were killed helping fight these fires. Let them know how much you care, and what their sacrifice means to you.
3. if nothing else, you could still throw money at it.

You are a thoughtful person, helping to define 'good citizenship'. There may be $ fund drives to aid the fire fighters with meals, soft drinks, cots, etc. If you can get the addresses, drop the fire companies an encouraging note and perhaps, encourage your parents to enclose a check. Discuss the subject with your friends using this as an example to illustrate the need for fire safety. And, of course, as the fire companies request, discourage those who would be sight-see-ers and possibly become a problem, themselves. Finally, if you have any solid information that may lead to the apprehension of arsonists, contact your local authorities.

I was with a fire crew in Washington state and I'm sure the same opportunities exist in California for civilian volunteers.
The fire crews gather at assembly / rally points and staging areas to go out and begin fire suppression. There are plenty of chances for you to pass out food, snacks, bottled water, etc. at these areas. They also need help setting up dinning and sleeping areas for many of these out of town crews that come in off the line following a very long shift of fire fighting.
I even knew of some people that gathered mail to be posted or went out and got newspapers and magazines for the crews to ready while on down time -- though they mostly just sleep.
I'd start by checking with the local Department of Natural Resources office, the area's Homeland Security office or even the county sheriff's department on where to volunteer.
Good for you! Hope this helps.

nicely, California isn't a Marxist-Leninist state, failed or otherwise. Texas is style of a run down suburbs of the poorest hick city in California. They pray for rain in Texas by using fact Perry decrease their firefighting funds by utilising seventy 5%. faith based firefighting in basic terms would not artwork.

A simple thank you card someone gets in the mail sometimes means a whole lot, especially if you went around the neighbor hood and got signatures. Hopefully you live in a nice hood or ask a parent to go with you

Thanks for the question. Ummmm, well, my school just made thank you cards for 9/11 and I guess that should be what you should give them. Add a $50 dollar gift card or a $20 bill. Anything could be helpfull to them.

Go to your local Air Force recruiter and see if you're old enough to join so you can fly MAFFS-equipped C-130s to fight the fires.
