What do you think are the stereotypes of various breeds?

There have been a couple of questions along this line recently. So here's one I have. Pick a breed or two. What do think the stereotypes of this/these breed(s) is/are?

Update:

Parisite Hilton. That's a good one. LMAO.

Update 2:

I think a lot of people would be surprised to learn just how on the bite list American Cocker Spaniels really are.

Update 3:

That should read ...how high on the bite list...

Chi's - Bratty little ankle biting dogs that are good for nothing but noise. NOT true... I've owned and met some very sweet little Chi's that would no doubt change anybody's mind. :-)

Pit Bulls- Vicious man eaters that have brains that out grow their heads and will cause them to turn on people (including their owners) with those alligator jaws that still hold on even after 10 thousand bullets have bounced off of them!

LMAO!!! That one is SO untrue I have to laugh! You have to laugh, especially if you own one of these goofy, wiggly butt, zoomie clowns who's only objective in life is to give people tongue baths and make their humans smile. :-)

Added: Ha! A thumbs down eh? For what? Because I said that Chis aren't the mean bratty little dogs that some people make them out to be? Or because I said that Pit Bulls aren't vicious killers?

There are books about this. Telling you what the characteristics are of a specific breed.

Such as dogs that should not be around children, dogs that are predisposed to bite, dogs that are bred for specific purposes (hunters, companion, guard, herders, etc), dogs that need to be inside, dogs that can stay outside etc.

Many breeds may carry a reputation for aggression while other would cower in a corner.

Then we got the general public that are ignorant about the predisposition of specific dogs & attach a label to them. Yes, the Pitts are dangerous, so is the German Shepherd, the Cane Corso, Doberman but there are always exceptions to the rule. Then let an ignorant breeder start breeding them & the possibility of danger rises even higher.

Stereotypes can be specific or general, they can also be breed specific or certain breeds in general.

The list of dogs that pose a bite issue is far greater than one would think. Dogs that used to be good family dogs are no longer what they used to be. The Peke, cocker spaniels, poodles, labs, goldens etc are becoming a threat where they didn't used to be.

Doberman Pincers, attack owners? It depends on the temperament of the individual dog. The same is true with many breeds that have a reputation for biting, shaking & shivering, shyness, etc. It is the individual not the breed.

I'm sick of the stereotype that people say about Wolf Hybrids being dangerous, evil killers. My Wolf hybrids are the most loving, loyal, friendly dogs that you would ever see. They would NEVER bite or attack anyone.

I know a lot of people who own Wolf Hybrids, too, and theirs are not like the typical crazy, wild stereotype that Wolf Hybrid haters tell everyone they are.

All my puppies that I've sold to happy buyers have grown up to be great family dogs.

    Pomeranian:

Possessive, anti social, yappy, has no doggy needs and belongs to Parisite Hilton type people.

    Untrue.

well pitbulls especially have been given a bad name (rightfully so). also rotwiellers used to be high class but so many people bred them that they kind of got a bad name.
