Where do you see math in your everyday life?

At the store when you are comparing prices and figuring discounts, when cooking/baking especially when converting measurements, measuring and cutting wallpaper, deciding what size of tv you can buy that will fit in your house=], etc. think about decorating...

Buying things in the shop, measuring rooms for DIY, calculating how long a journey will take, shops working out discount on products, architects, builders, carpenters, plumbers and most trades all use maths everyday so it's not just for the classroom

If you want to build a cupboard for your garage, you have to figure out how many linear feet of lumber you need.

If you're going to paint your house, or your room, you need to figure the area of the walls, so that you know how much paint you need. Or square feet for carpet on the floor.

If you're going to go shopping, you need to add up the amount of money you're spending, and subtract that from the amount you have in the bank, so that the bank can't charge you $30. for overdrafts.

If you're going to buy gas, and you have $20. in your pocket, how much gas can you buy if it's $3.00 a gallon?
