Don Mattingly to the RED SOX?
I think the big achilles heal this year for the SOX was Dave Magadan as hitting coach. Papi even called "Papa Jack" for advice during the season when he was having trouble hitting! I think he's a big reason the players hit worse this year than any other.
Now than Don Mattingly is free I wonder if the SOX would go after him and dump Magadan. It would be even better than stealling away A-rod and you'd actually get something for the money.
Thoughts?
In case some were not aware Mattingly gave his notice to the YANKEES earlier today when he learned he did not get the managers job.

Once Joe Torre lands a job in either LA or the Mets, Donny Baseball will join him. Mattingly in a Red Sox uniform?? That would be sacrilege! Think about it, could you imagine Ted Williams in a Yankee uniform or Mickey Mantle in a Red Sox uniform? That would be the end of civilization as we know it!

Im a sox fan and would love to see mattingly as our hitting coach but do you honestly believe that he would leave the yanks to go to the sox in the same role with no chance for advancing to manager? If he stays with New York and Georgies track record of hire and fire with managers especially with the rough couple of years the Yanks will most likely be facing he will get his shot at skipper with them.

I'd love it nothing but respect for mattingly,i think it's sad that the yankees didnt give him a chance to prove himself i think he'd make some team a great manager, sad too that some yankees fans are mad at him,or saying he's easily replaced,Good Luck Don wherever you go.
