Thanksgiving appetizers?
Going to a party, I need to bring appetizers... 20-30 people will be there and that does include kids ranging in different ages. Its the saturday after thanksgiving, I have to work friday so easy easy prep would be great.
I do plan a veggie platter and a fruit platter. I should have stated that. I am looking for something semi-fancy... I am good at improvising and a whiz in the kitchen. Its just not having the day off in between the holidays is freaking me out.
I am doing thanksgiving at my home this year as well.

This is a GREAT light snack for before dinner and seems to be love by EVERYONE! I personally only use carrots, broccoli and cauliflower -- but you can use any combo of vegetables you like.
1 cn (8 oz)refrigerated crescent Rolls
2 pk (8 oz each) cream cheese, Softened
1 1/2 tb Mayonnaise
1 tb Dill weed
(I add a little garlic to mine ... or just use herb and garlic cream cheese spread)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. spread crescent roll
dough on 13-inch baking stone and pinch seams
together. Bake 10-12 min. until lightly brown. remove
from oven and let cool completely. blend cream cheese,
mayo, and dill weed. Spread the cheese mixture on top of cooled crust.
Topping: all finely chopped (using a chopper is great!):
Take 1/2 cup each of carrots, cauliflower and broccoli ... mix it together and sprinkle over the top of the cream cheese evenly. Cut into squares and serve within an hour or two.
Refrigerate before serving (only for an hour or two).

Something very tasty is what's called Ribbon Sandwiches.
You start with four pieces of bread, traditionally two white and two brown, but it's a personal choice.
Butter them all and then spread cream cheese on one, gherkin spread on the second, fish paste on the third, leave the fourth with just the butter.
Put them all together with the plain butered one on top, like your making a sandwich.
Cut the crusts off and then cut them into two or three fingers. The ingredients might sound weird, but they are so tasty and most people i make them for, here in Oz, love them.

Ham and cheese kabobs on fancy toothpicks...and do some with just the ham or just cheese. 8-16 ounces sharp cheddar cheese and 3-6 slices precooked ham and a box or two of frilly toothpick or colored toothpicks should do it. Great nibble, not junk food for the just can't wait bunch to eat.
Deviled eggs.
Home made chicken salad in a ruffled lettuce and process meat slice wrap.
Using drained canned chicken breast 12-16 ounces, add some mayo, a cooked egg or two (nuke egg in microwave -whip yoke with fork-in greased & covered bowl), some sweet pickles, salt and pepper, spices opt. Combine with fork. Place tablespoon or so of well mixed and mashed salad in thin slice of turkey, chicken. Roll; place in ruffled lettuce leaf, wrap; secure with toothpick. Place on platter. Cover with plastic wrap.
Chill; transport.

Prociutto wrapped melon balls are easy and fast and can serve lots of people. You could also serve already peeled and deveined shrimp. Saute the shrimp in garlic, olive oil, salt and pepper and serve in a bowl with toasted bread slices . Before you bake the bread slices, brush with olive oil and sprinkle with fresh herbs(thyme, rosemary, oregano) and fresh cracked pepper. Hope this helps!

Buy the mini sausuages or hot dogs & some bbq sauce. Take out a crockpot & add in the meat with the bbq sauce. Simmer & serve with toothpicks!

do a raw veggie platter with ranch dressing or a fruit platter with fruit cream dip.

how about mini quiches. The prep work is easy, and you could cook this early in the morning. Use small muffin pans, and cupcake paper liners.

since you already have veggie and fruit, consider a "pig in the blanket" (that's what i am making)...use half a hotdog, and wrap it with pillsbury bread sticks...in spirals....and bake for about 15 minutes and all done.
